While there aren't many there are some 2500's with more than 3400lbs between curb weight and RAWR.
Also, depending on how it's loaded, 3400 lbs in the bed could put more, or less, than 3400 lbs on the rear axle.
It seems like the 2500 air system is inadequate. I wonder if there is a way to reprogram it, or to increase the nitrogen precharge to gain a little more fill in the bags when needed.

As usual, on a computer controlled truck, there are many ways to get that message, only one of which is ACTUALLY OVERLOADING the air bag system. *All you really have to do is take some action that confuses the computer or the sensor! *
