My friend has a 04 2500 (hemi) that he felt a funny shudder in while cornering so we brought it in and pulled the cover. Looking at the diff carrier (limitid slip) on the right hand side we can see what looks like three gears each with what appears to be a pin that has worn thru the case. Each gear/pin is eaqually spaced around the circumference of the carrier with the "pin" being slightly above the "gear". We jacked both wheels off the ground and while spinning one wheel the carrier spins as well as the gears. The gears have worn into the carrier from the inside out causing very sharp edges. This definetly does not look normal to me but i am not familiar with this at all. It would almost seem as if there was no thrust washers to keep this side loading
condition. Has anyone seen this before? Also didnt find any unusual metal in the housing/fluid.
