As an update to my rear brake conversion the brakes are well seated and work awesome. I put a set of slotted rotors and new pads up front and the combination did wonders for braking power. The brakes are every bit as good as my 3rd Gen I used to have. Pedal feel is greatly improved over what the drums provided and much less pedal travel before braking starts. It cost a few bucks but this was an upgrade definitely worth doing. I still need to get the parking brake setup done but I'll get there eventually.

Thanks for the update, Vaughn. Let us know how the parking brake setup goes once you get it done. I'm really conservative about that. I learned to drive, both automatic and clutch, in San Francisco. As you might imagine, when I park (except in freezing weather), I set the parking brake, put the truck in gear and curb the wheels. I'll sometimes even deploy a wheel chock. So not having a parking brake gives me the willies. :D

years ago they made brake lock levers for serious 4 wheeling, they plumbed in series, push the brake pedal and throw the lever it would keep the fronts brakes set..... might be a idea? a little work but a sure fire parking brake.

I was actually thinking something similar,,,Line Lock.

yes but a true line lock takes power to hold the solenoid, these were just ball valves in series, we had them for the front and back axles, no matter what we could hold the rig and get out and see how to proceed, picked them up at the 4x4 shop, they were really clean looking when flush mounted on the dash ..... but that's been 25 yrs, lol
