I fixed a leaking end cap on my rear driveline yoke three years ago. Link here: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-powertrain/244736-driveshaft-yoke-leak.html. It is leaking once again.

I am considering pouring epoxy into the yoke to seal it off. I am concerned about epoxy breaking off and getting into the transfer case. I may coat the outside of the yoke and leave the inside alone. I haven't decided which is the best route forward.

Anyone have experience with leaking yokes and what did you do to seal it?

TIA,

Bob

While not uncommon, repetative yoke seals leaking are sometimes the result of a poorly balanced or aligned driveshaft.

Do you have any vibrations or other symptoms of a driveline problems??

Also, it would help to know the year and cinfiguration of your truck.

Does your driveshaft have a donut shaped vibration damper on it... it would be located right behind the yoke... these were used on some truck/transmission combos to help diminsh NVH and are known to go bad... . also what transmission does your truck have??

Also very possible that the tailhouse bushing is bad (out of round) allowing too much micro play of the shaft and thus wearing out seal.
