I have had a bounce issue come and go in my truck for a while now. I am wanting to know if a bad leaf spring would cause the truck to bounce at a certain speed. I know the bounce is in the rear and it happens at 40 mph unloaded and 35-45 with an empty GN trailer. If I have the truck loaded right its not there. I am thinking about replacing leaf springs because the are not strait anymore they are lightly wavy, lust wondering if that could be the problem.

Thanks

Rear shock may be bad and sounds like a tire unbalance or uneven. Could also be a driveline issue("u" joint going bad). bg

Hmmmm. Well lets see. I have new wheels and tires, new shocks, new drive line, the bounce is at speed frequency, but I don't think its tires, or anything above as the bounce did not change with them. The thing thats really bugging me is that everything is smooth after 45mph loaded, and 41mph unloaded.

Thanks

i would say the wavy rear leaf springs are most likely the couplet. Sounds like your truck was overloaded badly at least one time. Of coarse if the springs are shot so is the bushings. I just replaced my leaf springs for some Skyjacker 4" leaf springs, the old ones were not wavy nor was the replacements. If you would like some used but treated gently (48K miles with air bags) I got a set for you. Good luck with the truck.
