Hi all I have an issue with the rear power window on my 2013 Ram. The window was installed wrong and on Very hot days it would open but not close. I was able to repair the track but not before the motor failed. I’ve replaced the motor. my issue now is I can get it to open but not close if I switch the wires going to the motor plug it will close but not open. It seems like there is a relay that has failed. Any guess where the window Controll relays are located? Or is it a window Controll module? Where will I find it?
thanks all Keep cool.

How about the switch itself? Perform a continuity test for the switch. Maybe the contacts to the close side are bad.

Funny I drove to work and it worked a couple of times then failed again . At least I have it wired backwards and it failed in the closed position

With the motor removed from the cables I can slide the window with one finger. It’s free. If I reverse the wires going to the motor it opens no issues. Reverse again it closes no issues. Problem has to be in the motor controller. Maybe the over load protection unit has failed? Where is it located???

I have this same problem .... and it only happens on unusually hot days. Window opens but won’t close. Window cools down, then it will close. I don’t use the window very often, but on those hot days, I don’t use it all. I will be keeping an eye on this thread - thanks.

Update... I found the window motor was jamming. I’m not sure if it was a result of the window track being twisted. My rear window was removed and reinstalled when a body shop repaired the cab roof I crushed a few years back. I was able to open up the track and get the glass to slide smoothly but the damage was done to the motor. I also found the window switch failing when hot. I guess there is a thermal overload built into the switch that got damaged from trying to close the window. I used a doorman window motor. But it took quite a bit of work to make it fit/ work. RAM and the aftermarket only offers the motor with the cable Ast. For 3 times the price. I had to modify the motor and fabricate a electric plug. I found the switch issues after I had the new motor in place, I had wired it backwards. The window would close but not open when hot.
that said start with the overhead switch an go from there. My motor would jam up when hot , left in hot sun even when bench testing.

Truly admire you guys that have the “stick toitivenss “ to jump through hoops to fix things like this. My solution of just not using the window on hot days is not so admirable, but much easier on my blood pressure.
