Thanks for bringing this to the front. I gotta do the shackles in the Durango. They're getting ugly!

I got relatives nearby. We do brunch @ CK Prime @ Quakerbridge a few times a year.

WOW just checked mine. Im going to order some on monday... ... ... .

Just had a tank strap rust a way. replaced both of them.

Thank you for the advice Chris

I read this thread a long while ago and just stumbled upon it this am. I am in the middle of a cab/body off, engine/ drive train out rebuild and thought I'll have look see tonight.

I whipped out my trusty needle gun to knock off the scale a bit. Well, without any difficulty I blew hole clean through the right side shackle. The left side which gets the greater amount of sand and salt spray is still solid. Go figure. Anyway new bolts and shackles get ordered tomorrow.

Do what the nice man suggests Gents and check yours. If I hadn't seen this thread I would have never given it a thought because they did look solid just rusty.

You gotta love the internet and especially the TDR gang. ;)

While on a trip last week, WI to MI, I noticed that the rear kunuckes from each of the leaf springs have punched through the bed. Look under, and leaf spering shackles look like they have been gone for a while. The truck sits pretty even (at almost 300k) amd I never noticed it. Most people so far said it's too big of a job, but I'm going to try it after seeing this thread. Thank you.
