Competition Roll call for Eldon truck pulls

 Ok so ive been having some issues with my second hand reline chip not working properly and giving me random cases of dead pedeal. well i sent it back to blue chip got everything refreshed and fixed on it so the box is ruled out of the equation. I get the box back connect everything and make shure all the coneections are good (soldered to the original wire then a male/female connection to the box) and use alot of elctrical tape. turn on the truck and everthing is going good rev it up and all of a sudden the tac reading is going all over the place (i dont think 9800 rpm is possible)some times its not even a number..... well i take it out and take it for a test drive everything is going good them wham engine is dead... #@$%! i tryed restart it nothing it acts like it getting no fuel, turn the key off then back on and wow first crank no problem, went back to the house confused and angry with the rpm acting haywire agin, any ideas?

It might be stupid but maybe a loose ground on the injection pump. Maybe with all the re wiring... . something is loose?

well with the chip off there are no issues at all, and the gound is sodered as far as conection goes and i have a pump tap for the power side.

I thought you said you took it off and the went for a drive then the truck died... .

If the truck is completely fine and runs perfect then it has to be the box or the harness. I would start at the box... maybe get some dielectric grease for all the connections on the box.

After that check the map plug for loose wires etc... . look close for kinks, crimps, or small slices or cuts or exposed wire anywhere. If that doesn't work get a whole new harness.

Start with the small things first and work your way up to the big things... .....

ok found out what the problem was and got a new one in the process, the nut for the pump cover fell off and the eyelet was just hanging on, well i take out the taping screw and go to ace get teh new nut and put the taping screw back in and the pump cover i have (from BD) is striped out and will not pierce the wire properly..... this is jsut getting better and better...
