5th wheel vs. GCVWR

Air condioning Camper

I've noticed that members have the '03 Dodges with Pull Rite and Reese hitches. My local dealer/installer from Pull Rite wants $2,600 plus labor for their unit installed. I currently own a 16K Reese receiver and would like part numbers, etc. to install the Reese rails to my '03 3500.

The only difference in the rail kit is the rear brackets and the addition of spacer tubes. Here's a site I found while browsing.

Check my "reader's rigs" pics for my '03 2500 installation. I've re-installed my hitch three times in new trucks with new hardware. $2600 does seem a tad steep!

Here's Reese's site...

This site is more helpful. Reese and Drawtite are the same.

The Reese Installation Instructions for the rails here (on page 11 of 16) specifies Bracket Kit 58186.

After the installation is complete, you'll have a set of heavy-duty "L" brackets left over from the original kit.

Thanks for all the help guys. I've installed Adobe reader and can pull up the bracket, and I'm guessing the $2600 was for a slider. I have the long bed, so I don't need that. I'll get another quote on Monday to compare.
