Last week I got the message that the Exhaust Filter was 90% full. I drove on the interstate till the message was gone.

This morning I go the message again.

Why would the filter be full so soon? I had only driven about 40 miles back and forth to work during the week.

2015, 1500 ecodiesel. Total milage less than 37,000 miles.

Thanks in advance

From what I have read you should regen every 200-300 miles. There are sensors to read back pressure in the exhaust. To reduce regens. Don't idle, use a winter front, highway driving, etc. Get the engine up to temp quickly and keep it warm. Stop and go traffic won't help it.

If you are driving your normal drive cycle you most likely have something causing excessive soot.

rono....
You need to get with GDE (Green Diesel Engineering) and have your ECM reprogrammed. I have a 2016 4x4 Limited, I had mine reprogrammed around the 700 mile mark. A couple of main benefits I have found is that they electrically turn off the EGR, which stops it from dumping soot into the intake and regens are a lot further apart. My regens occur during every other fill up (about a 1000 miles apart) and only last for around 11-12 miles at highway speeds. I have around 39,500 miles on my truck now and I've zero issues with it and every time I take it in for service I tell them not to flash the ECM.
