I sent the injectors from my 04. 5 to Industrial Injection, they did a rebiuld and new 70 hp tips. SO far after 1000 miles of towing my GN trailer from Washington to Nevada, I am very happy. . The engine runs much smoother, not that it was rough before. Just better running now. I turned the JUCE setting to #1 Milage instead of the #2 tow setting,. I have just as much power as I used to on the higher setting, less smoke at acceleration and SEEMS to be a bit better on fuel useage. I will know more after I get another 1500 miles on this haul. Will try to give a full towing and milage report when I get home.

Just curious what constitutes an injector "rebuild"?
Is it only cleaning and replacement of the tips, or do they also replace the solenoid if necessary?
What about the needle and/or seat?
Can they also identify excessive wear to where it is better to simply replace the entire injector??

Thanks for clarifying.

They told me that the only parts that are not replaced is the main body and the chrystal? All of the other parts are new. I am in Las Vegas now and have almost 1400 towing miles on this trip. I notice a bit more low rpm smoke at high elevation. BUT still pulls better than before and is smoother. I did have to back off on one 5th gear hard pull. My alarm is set at 1350 and I could havew easly exceeded that, although it was in the high 90s. So that is really not too much different than before. I assume that if I install a more efficent cooler this would help.
