My buddy got an 05 with the auto. The local autoparts store he checked at can't supply one with a delay for the grid heater. Anybody recomend one that they have in their vehicle that they like. A web link to order and a rough price too please, if you have it

DEI, Viper 160xv, it's simple and easy to install. . and make sure the installer sets the correct delay, You can also have the installer create 1 Summer Fob 10 second delay and 1 for winter with 20 second delay. I have install countless F/Remans without any problems, it's the installer lack of knowledge that generally will cause problems. .

Let me clarify. A commercial installer wants $400. 00 to make the sytem that the parts store sells have a delay. I am pretty sure I have seen systems that are adjustable with out a degree in electrical engineering. What I am looking for is a brand that a private owner(either my friend or I) can install that has an adjustable delay built in and does not require any custom work.

The Viper 160xv is the Unit. Do Have the Chipped Key, if you do it will require a transponder to be wired in. if not the 160 is a standalone unit. . the unit is about $100. 00 the install WO/Transponder $125. 00, W/Transponder $250. 00 Installed. If you don't know how to read wiring skims or familiar with the system, IMO don't attempt it.

On edit. . The Module needs to be programmed, the 160 requires the 998t by DEI, but it only takes 5 minutes to do.

OK thanks I'll double check the price with my buddy If its 400 total I'll tell him to have the alarm shop do it since its gonna cost 350 +- between the alarm and bitwriter 50 bucks to install it aint bad

Thanks again.

The only other little hint of advice is to make sure they do not bury the Module, You want access to it, and you want the on/off switch reachable also.
