removing stock decals plates

Whats the best way to remove the Ram 2500 CTD decal on the doors?

Heat gun works really well.

Use fishing line or dental floss and saw it off by running the line between the metal and the badge. The badges are stuck on with 2 sided tape. I took mine off that way and used WD40 as a solvent to remove the sticky stuff.

Did the same and used 3M adhesive remover. Wash and wax done.

i'd like to do it... but i have black that has 80k+ miles on it. does anyone know of anything i can do to "blend" the color? very fine sandpaper?

Be careful with the heat gun, I overheated mine a little and the chrome plastic coating started to delaminate / bubble. Now I've got to get another Cummins "C" one from Genos!

Mine had 150,000 when I did mine and the Texas sun does have its effect. I used polishing compound and if you look real hard you can see where it was but a casual look doesnt pick it up.

If you soak our badges in acetone like the ford ones do they come up compleatly chrome?

be careful with the heat gun on anything plastic you intend on reusing or giving away, etc. works great if you just want the emblem off your truck, though.

I would think if you soak those plastic badges in acetone that in a few minutes you would just have contaminated acetone.
