Once agian the TDR pays for itself by all you folks providing good information about potential solutions.

ABS & Brake light were on so I searched the forums and found lots of information on speed sensors. Turns out mine was bad. Infinite ohms across the terminals.

I have rear wheel only ABS and 4x4.

Here is how I replaced it for anyone that finds the need.

Most difficult part is crawling under the truck so here is a tool list so you only have to make one trip.

Tools

Ohm meter - good sensors are around 1800 ohms, mine was infinite

1/2 inch deep well socket

9/16 inch deep well socket

screw driver

1/2 open end wrench

9/16 open end wrench

diagonal cutters

rubber mallet

additional parts needed:

1-wire tie

The sensor is located on top of the axel housing on the drivers side and on the front side.

Replacement steps I used:

1. Insert he screw driver in the open end of the connector to release it.

2. Cut the wire tie

3. Use the wrenches to break loose the nut holding the brake line strap

4. Remove the brake lines

5. Use the 9/16 socket to remove the stud holding the sensor in place

6. Use the screw driver to persuade the sensor out if needed

7. Use the mallet to persuade the new one in if needed.

8. Replace the stud

9. Replace the brake line strap

10. Replace the connector

11. Wire tie the wiring back in place

My light went out on start up. The reason I put in all the little steps is to demonstrate that anyone can do it. It takes about 20 minutes. Would not have taken so long except the labrador hinders more than helps :)

My estimate from my local Dodge dealer was $206, Part was $42.

I think I am going to take the difference and get some speed bleeders :D

Next time I'll leave the dog in the house. :-laf
