I am looking at 4th Gen trucks, kinda' have the itch.

I tried out a 2012 Crew Cab Laramie CTD 4X4 last week and really liked the truck.

My biggest complaint with the '06 has been the seating, drivers seat is so-so and the passenger seat is terrible. After a couple of hours my wife is wiggling like a toddler as the seat cushion has cut off the circulation to her lower legs.

It is non-power in the '06 so I figured if I went with a full power 2012 Laramie truck that problem would be solved... . NOT.

I was disappointed to discover that the right hand power seat only goes front to rear, no up and down.

Looked at all 2012 trucks in the lot with power seats, same way. No up and down adjustment. #@$%!

Is this how all the 4th Gen trucks with RH power seats are???

Mike.

The passanger seat movement statement got me curious so went out and checked my '10. You're right - only front/back movement, and the backrest tilts forward and back. That is a little disappointing.

I had to build a 4 inch high foot stand in a previous truck for my Mom to keep her feet on the floor. That allowed circulation since her legs weren't dangling from the lower seat cushion.

I think they lowered the height of the dashboard on the 4th generation interiors a little, on my 05 the Wife had the passenger seat full up, the 12 truck is just fine the way it is, no complaints, and the comfort is ten times better that the old one. I had the very same concerns as you are having before I bought the new one, those concerns are a memory now, a non event.

It kinda' ticked me off as they advertise it as "10-way power driver's seat and 6-way power passenger seat"

The six way thing appears to be fore and aft, backrest up and down, and the lumbar support in and out.

I argued with the dealership owner, his brother and a salesman as they all assured me that it would go up and down (which is what 6-way used to mean).

I have now proved it to them and they are all going "What in the Hell did they do that for"????

Just wondered if that had escaped notice ever since the 4th Gens came out??

RAM Marketing guys, if you are reading this could you find out why this is??

The wife and I wondered if the cushion might break down enough to make it a little better with the passage of time.

I will not buy another new anything unless the seats are exactly as we want. It was a mistake to buy the '06 without power seats but at the time I did not want a leather interior.

I still prefer cloth, heated cloth is even better (Not a Ram offering) but can't be done with the dual power seats.

I have an employee that just purchased a new Jeep Patriot and it is equipped with heated cloth seats.

Why can't RAM offer the same???

I hear ya! My 09 Subaru and the new 12 TDI have heated cloth. Although the leather in the wife's Pilot is great for repelling dog hair that embeds itself in any cloth seat...
