Now that things have calmed down for me I can get back into our chapter activities. First I want to apologize for my relative inactivity, but I do indeed want to liven things up for our chapter, and I need your help in two ways.
First, as you can see I've posted a poll of activities/events/ideas. Please respond by indiciating those activities you are interested in, or, please post things you would be interested in doing.
While the activity in our chapter has been quiet that doesn't mean I am the only person who can suggest an event. I encourage anyone with ideas to post them, even if it is a BBQ at your place on a 3 day weekend.
Also, as we're all aware, a scheduled event does not mean there will be a big turnout, and I especially want to make it clear that a low turnout is never indication of a lack of wanting to go - simple logistics and economics - not everyone can make it. But, that has never disuaded planning events.
Usually, with the exception of a big dyno gig, the number of attendees at an event has little impact on its success. But I still want to list upcomming activities with the hopes that we'll have decent turnouts and some quality social time together, and, some good ole black smokin' times!
So please cast a vote, and I'll do my best to make 2009 better than 2008 was. I don't plan on moving out of the area, but I'll always accept help organizing an event. If someone wants to run with something, please don't be shy. Post your idea, plan it out, and we'll always do our best to make a good showing
.
Thanks all,
- Sam
