RA is working hard on that customer service I'd say... .

FWIW, Blake I might have saved your post for Private Messages, not because I don't think that fellow members can't know but because from here it turns into a "he said, she said" match. So the one that looks bad is the one who was the lesser lawyer. The problem with computers is that you don't have body language and tone of voice so you can be recieved as being rude when in fact you were cordial and polite. However James E-mail is blatantly obvious.

From here I know what I would do... . in my book customer service goes a long way.

Chipstien,

I know this probably should've been a PM, but IMHO this is something I think that is worth letting fellow TDR members know, since they (GP) are about to invest a good chunk of change into RA. I just wanted people to know my experience w/ RA's customer service, because I think it is worth noting. As far as "she said, he said" goes, I agree, and the fact that computers do limit how we express and convey our ideas toward one another; that may have taken a toll on this situation. I am not trying to roused a conflict w/anyone, just stating my take on the results.

I agree totally. I believe there are 2 or 3 post in this thread that say "buyer beware" and then there is this. It sure makes you think twice about putting down the dough. DGMW, I have absolutly no experience with RA so I am going by strictly what I have heard on this site and from others locally. Had this GP been a month earlier then I would have been torn between the RA and the Buckstop. But since this wasn't around I went with the Buckstop. As it is the RA is still considerably more money with the discount then the Buckstop at regular price. Way more if the $1500 figure ends up being the price. I just couldn't pull myself to pay that much for steel. Now if it were Stainless... ... :)

Man, what a bummer. I was seriously considering front and rear bumpers. I hope this thing can get cleared up before the GP deadline.

Wow, I have to agree with Chipstien, it sound like this might be a comunication gap and reading e-mail does leave things to be interpited by the reader the wrong way. I am not sure how James took the "it is wrong to give me one price, and quote me another. " I then went on to say I was not interested in the bumpers any longer" Personally I would have probally taken that the same way your telling him he is wrong with out exsplaing why and in the same sentance you tell him your not intrested in the bumpers anymore not giving him an oportunity to understand were your coming from or exsplane himself. perhaps a phone call could have settled this, just my 2 cents.

Blake, sorry it didn't work out for you.

I would strongly suggest that perhaps we call James in the future and talk to him or ask him any further question on the phone instaed of via e-mail, as stated it can be mis-interpeted and then you can lose on a great deal over a simple e-mail.

BBD,

I quoted James so I would not have to explain myself to him, nor should I have to. If you say one price stick with it. I figured by quoting him, and showing him what he wrote and agreed upon as a sale price that there would not be any confusion. As far as discussing this matter on the phone. James knows my number, because I gave it to him, when we talked over the phone yesterday. I asked for his number at the factory in Eugene, OR because that is where he is right now until this weekend. But the only response I got was his e-mail stating RA is not interested in my business and that I am accusing him "the president of a company of deceit. "

First of all I would say this is not the appropriate venue to discus this matter. However, just to clear this matter up. Nothing has changed on our end. We offered to make our product available at 35% off the prices listed on our web site.

Based upon this what are we not honoring, how am I not a man of my word?

To this end, nothing has changed, nothing has been said that we would not honor this price. I do not know what we have done to deserve this attack?

The following is what I received:

"On my new invoice it seems you decided to go with the higher price and not the original price you quoted me at. Well since you are not a man of your word, I have decided NOT to buy the bumpers. It is not the price change that made me do this (I know this is a GREAT deal) but, I think it is wrong to tell me one price, and quote me another. "

Sorry for any confusion. If you need to talk with one of your fellow forum members about us, his name is Robert from the Northwest Bombers. I am sure if you post for him you will receive a very positive report.

Thanks,

James

roadarmor,

Obviously we have a difference of opinions on this subject matter, as do others on this forum. It happens a lot :D . You being a business man should know, that the #1 rule in customer service is the customer is always RIGHT! This is a matter not worth discussing anymore, because you don't want my business, and I don't want your bumpers.

Bottom line is you gave me a price for the Titan II, right or wrong, you should have stuck to that price or in other words... YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MAN OF YOUR WORD.

How about hearing the good things about James and the crew at Road Armor?

I just got through dealing with James and Sandy from Road Armor and they where great to deal with. They called me right back every time I got the answering service and James answered a lot of questions for me. He even stayed online late last night to answer a few of them. I called today to finalize everything and again got the answering service and Sandy called me back within 10 minutes. (always log distance by the way) She even called me back later in the afternoon just to make sure all my info was correct. The estimate I got from James was right on what I figured on my own. I had no problems what so ever with any over charges.

So far in my dealings with James and Sandy at Road Armor I'd have to say the customer service as been great. :) Much better than many other vendors I've delt with in the past.

My only problem is I don't know if I can wait for them to come in. :D I'm so excited now I can't stand it. Oo. Oo.

Guys this thread is taking an ugly turn QUICKLY. What started out as a Group Purchase INFORMATION thread is taking a turn for the worse. I have kept tabs on this thread and have P. M'd Folks before on what can and cannot fly here. Do consider this a fair warning. If ANY of you have issues please deal with them OFF the forums. I. E in a P. M or an E~Mail.

Tim, thank you for keeping this on line, and us on track. I certianly meant for this to be an informative thread in wich TDR members could benfit from agroup purchase.

Thanks again,

BBD

All, I have a friend at work who will be ordering a bumper so that puts back up to the 10 required for the 35% discount. Please take a look at the Pricing Page on the Road Armor Web page and subtract the 35% for your price when you call James to place your order confirm the price again.

Tim:

Thanks as well. I hope I didn't cause a problem with the price info, but I felt it was information that would help all to understand.

Thanks,

James
