Can someone give me some information on the Roadmaster Active Suspension I have a 3/4 4x4, and it is a little bouncy sometimes. I do not want to remove the overloads, as I'm going to be towing a trailer to Colorado in a couple of months. I would like to be able to smooth out the ride in the mean time. Thanks:)

They will strengthen up the rear endwhen loaded so removing the overloads is no big deal. Call Bob, the dealer offering the reduced price to TDR members, he will be be able to adress your concerns.

You might want to check out posts about Rancho 9000 shocks. I changed mine over to the Rancho's fairly early on (long before the stock shocks were worn out) and it made a substantial diffference in the ride. Also, put 500+ lbs. of something in the bed and it will ride much, much smoother (I use sandbags all winter).

I have the Roadmaster setup, but I haven't installed it yet. I got it through the special TDR offer that Bob is having.

I plan to install it the weekend prior to New Years' and I'm looking forward to seeing how they work. I'll be putting them on and then bolting my airbags on top of 'em, though if they do what I think they'll do, I may be able to get rid of the air bags... we'll see.

RobG,

Did you check out the pics of John McIntyre's truck from the previous threads on Roadmasters? He had postive comments.

Yes, I saw John's comments, and also saw photos of somebody's truck (mighta been John's) who had managed to install the airbags over top of the Roadmaster setup. :)

I have Roadmasters and airbags (no overloads). It's a good set up imo. I sometimes carry a 1800lb cabover and somtimes a yard of drain rock or pea gravel - 3000lbs no problem. I've gotten a few funny looks and questions at the landscape yard when they see me putting a few pumps of air in the airbag fittings from a small bicycle pump I carry just before the loader drops the rock in the bed. The truck sits level and handles very good even with 3000lbs in the back.
