I ordered a Rokktech timing sensor for my CTD and i've noticed several TDR members who have them installed, i would like to know if anyone has any tips on set up (how much gap to achive best timing). What is best timing?, did it help any with fuel millage?, engine noise any different?, any performance difference?. Thanks very much, James.

I've had one installed for about a year. I believe it advances the timing about 2 degrees. It install the same as the stock one. But you have to turn it all the way to the right then tighten it down. If you turn it to the left and tighten down it would be back to stock. It felt a bit more qrisp, like a lighter throttle. I read once that 5 degrees was about the max. I also have the quad standard box. With it's slight increase of timing I still don't get a timing rattle.

I know this thread has been around here before, but I got the same question.
What does it do the MPG on an 06?

On my 04. 5, I have had it on for about a year and I noticed slightly snappier bottom end. I noticed only very slight timing rattle when it was cold out but once it warmed up there was no rattle at all. I never saw any MPG increase though. From what I have read, it seems like it is most noticable with manual trannys.

i did the tone ring mod right around the time the rokktec sensor came out. . honestly it didn't do much for me. now my ring is back as far retarted as the stock dowel hole allows and smarty is doing timing :)
