2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Ball joint replacement woes...

The rotors on my 97 continue to get hot and crack. I put in the larger 1 1/16 inch wheel cylinders in the rears and adjust them regularly but still seem to be over working the front brakes without pulling any load.

Considering trying slotted or drilled rotors.

Anyone had any better luck with these?

Mine don't warp, they just get lots of cracks. Any other suggestions to improve the braking of this truck would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I've read that cracking problems with drilled rotors pretty much pertains to older stuff. the new ones get good reviews and I don't think slotted ever had problems.

Results of my research - same as jtw - EGR. Several gents here (not the least of which would be Y-knot) have had good things to say about the Raybestos Superstops. If you do a search, there may still be some pix of Y-knot's front end set up - could probably win the concours at Pebble Beach. :D
