So a week or so ago I tried to open her up on a good stretch of open road and I could only hit 85 or so when I know I have done over 100 before. At about 2500 rpm or so, in every gear, it starts to run rough and kind of sputters. I also get a white cloud at the top of each gear even when it has been running all day and is hot. Any thoughts. My guess is slipped timing, but I don't know. It just kind of runs crappy at anything over 2500 and really looses power. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

In that case is there anyone on the Central Coast or even California for that matter that would be willing to rent me thir timing kit? I will pay whatever, just so long as I don't have to pay $200 to buy the kit myself. TIA

How does it start when the engine is cold? Does it start immediately or does it crank a few times? Upon starting, does it have white smoke(small amount)? If so, replace rubber fuel lines. If not check the timing.

Sorry, can't help on a place near you for the timing.

crabman :)

Ya, it starts right up with no hesitation. It used to smoke a lot before I put my grids back in, but its still runs crappy in the morning and puffs white clouds until it is warm. Thanks for all the replies. Still looking at timing this thing if anybody has a kit that they would lend me or rent me.

Thanks,

Jamie
