I do know my position on the sailboat, though: "starboard beersman. "
This one is new to me... LOL Hmmm yeah that's a position I often use too...
boonsur, I've sailed often on the J-24 but never on the bigger J's.
They're rather rare here but from what I've been told are good racers.
My boat is an 37' made by "Jouet". I know, most likely you've never heard about Jouet. In fact it was a small yard but they build excelent sailers. It's been build in 1980 so it's rather dated but I would not change it with any of the mordern boats that they want us to buy today. Almost every winter the "I want a new boat" bug bytes me. I go and visit some new model, nahhh my ol boat is way better than that stuff... What can I do? I love her... Oo. I swear she IS a Lady!
Good to hear from you Marco, haven't seen you on the forums much of late. My stepson is getting the sailing bug, he doesn't have a rig yet but is looking. My version of sailing is going down the open water of Toledo Bend/Sam Rayburn in a bass boat. bg.
Yup still arround here. Most times I have nothing worth to be said, so I lurk arround. Like my Grandpa said, it's better to be silent and seem stupid than open the mouth and confirm it... .
Only thing I would tell your stepson is that all the good sailors started on small boats.
Ok, I'll stop it now the bandwith of the TDR ain't large enough for what I could say about sailing... LOL
Marco
