I couldn't believe the episode of Two Guy's Garage with Sam and Dave. Sam sold his Cummins so I could buy a Duracrap. They performed some upgrades on the new truck. A B&D exhaust brake and such. But what really got my goat is when they ran down the Cummins powered Dodge. They were pointing out the obvious weak link with the automatic transmissions, but Sam came across fairly snotty about the whole thing. I personnally will ignore his column in the TDR (I really hope he does not write a column for us anymore) and most likely the new show from now on. Just my opinion, but Sam just lost a long time viewer of his shows.

BTW if you want to watch the show and see for yourself it re airs tonight at 11:30 central, 7 am central Friday, and 6:30 am central Sunday on Speed TV

I can't believe it either

I was also shocked to see sam in one of those recycled duraduds. I will no longer watch him. I cant believe he went with a Maxipad and downs the Cummins. I hope nobody buys his truck and he is stuck with it, at least he will still have a real diesel.

I'm not surprised

Out with the OLD, in with the NEW.

GM is probably giving the show $$$$$!

I'd love to see someone spank him good

with a new 2003 Ram ISB-E when they

come out!! :D

305 HP, 555 Ft Lbs! :p

I drove a 2003 GMC 2500HD DMax/Allison,

short bed extended cab. Nice truck but

boring compared to my RAM/Cummins!

The drivetrain is wimpy compared to my

2500 RAM. The axles are smaller, the

spring packs are smaller overall. Too

much of a Gentlemans Truck or Womens

truck.

I like my RAM. It's loaded with TESTOSTORONE!

:D

Chris,

You are probably correct when you save Chevy gave him $$$ for the new truck. Every item installed today, with the exception of the transmission additive and one other item were all from B & D. Exhaust brake, X-Monitor and EZ Amp, high performance B&D transmission for a Dodge, a "high" performance B & D torque converter. I think I covered them all. But take a look at the the twoguys.com website and see if you think B&D didn't pay for their items to be installed on today's episode. I guarentee you will see alot more (until you are ready to puke) of Sam's new duracrap on the TV. You notice I said you will see more, because I won't be watching any of his shows until he formally appologizes to the TDR for his "attitude" during his remarks regarding the Dodge trucks.

You know how it is with SOME guys ... . when they get TOO OLD, they gotta SLOW DOWN, and TAKE IT EASY.

Maybe the CUMMINS was gettin' to be TOO MUCH for the OLD GEEZER.

Time to start driving a truck that thinks it's a CADDY. :p ;)

Not for me. :D

BTW who pays the bills for the studio, the air time, the shop tools, etc. and gives him a truck to drive on top of it.

GM's gotta find SOME WAY to move the trucks off their lots.

Maybe there gonna keep GIVIN' 'EM AWAY:D :D

Yea,and Dodge don't run commercials of the Cummins pulling a 30' high backhoe either. Funny how the Cummins almost sells itself without all the HYPE:rolleyes: :) ... Doug

IF he's so quick and willing to NOW bash the Dodge in favor of his new GM product - what does that tell ya about his character and integrity - was he lying before about the good features of the Dodge and what he thought about it - OR, is he lying NOW about the GM?:p  :D

IF a person is CONSISTENT in their conduct and behavior, there's no REASON to question or suspect their integrity... ;)

You guys missed something

That infamous Chitlet commercial showing the Duramaxipad pulling a backhoe has some VERY interesting visual content. Us "old guys" tend to see these things. Did you see the box

hitting the back of the cab, as I did? It is so obvious, I can't believe the editors missed it! the box is beating the crap out of the cab, while also twisting left and right. What kind of junk is that?! Let the buyer remove his blinders!

:--)

Ron

It just goes to show you he's bought by the highest bidder. He was big on the Dodge when it was on his show. Whoever forks over the money to him gets his "endorsement". Shows you how much his opinion means - it's just a paid advertisement - which is no surprise. Kind of takes the "expert" out of the "expert", I'd say. Maybe he'll be endorsing a moped for towing next time - when some scooter company comes up with enough dough.

What happened?

It sounds as if a bunch of old ladys *****ing about the heat. So he bought a new truck and it's not a Dodge. How many of you guys are driving a Dodge because of him?

Chris, How is the drivetrain on the GM wimpy compared to the Dodge?

edit: after watching the show, I didn't hear him say anything that many on this board haven't said themselves. However, I think he did Dodge a service, because after seeing the crap you have to go through on a dmax just to install an exhaust brake, the truck is even (if this is possible) less appealing.

What do you expect. He bought the Dodge, put everything you can put on it (I would bet for free). Drove it all over the country and then the TDR puts it on the front of the website to help him sell it for I am sure more than he paid for it. Nice deal if you can get it!!! Now he will do the same with the Duramax. When you watch the show I would suggest buyer beware :(

I would guess none of us bought one because of Sam.

Chevys drivetrain is/was a joke.

Excuse me, I have to go buy a Chevy because Sam has one now!

Reminds me too much of Bob Villa anyway, cut is column, Robert,we don't want to hear anymore of his pimping product, escpecially products on a Chevy.

I for one was introduced to the "finer aspects" of the Cummins by watching Shadetree Mechanic.

I didn't buy one 'cuz HE had one, but bought one as a result of what I learned by watching..... THEN I found the TDR... ... and you guys have ruined me :D  ... ... OOOOOPs gotta go... . time for another "BOMB"ing fix:-laf :-laf

Geeeeze, when did I go over 1,000 posts?

Does this mean I get the toaster now?Oo.
