Your welcome!

I highly advise letting the oil drain for a couple hours, change other filters THEN remove the oil filter as it will have had enough time to siphon back so oil does not spill over the top of the filter.

I also try to let the oil drain for an hour or so and never thought about this helping to drain down the oil filter. When ever I have removed the filter I never have any oil spill over the top as I pull it down from its mount.
i have prefilled oil filters when ever possible all my life! Over the years many of my Kohler/Continetal Engine powered stuff specified doing and I have stuck to it at every opportunity.
The Fumoto quick drain plug is a must have feature, oil draining is a simple and clean job now! I highly recommend this update to any engine.

2004 2500 2wd. NV5600 Love Shifting! 256,570 miles @7773hrs. Going strong!
Banks HiRam and Intercooler
Edge CTS2 - added pre egt, Lift pump press sensors.

I used to change mine but old age interferes. However by getting the filters from GEnos, the oilat Costco,my local Goodyear dealer will change it for $20.
However I am not driving much lately. Only 2k since the last change 8+ months ago. If you re not putting on the miles how long can you go between changes?

Change engine oil every 15,000 miles (24 000 km) or six months or 500 Hours or sooner if prompted by the oil change indicator system, whichever comes first. **

After reading the forums I decided to do the oil analysis using Blackstone Labs . *1st sample- 5 mos 3750mi added 1qt. All was real good on specs. *Blackstone suggested 7500mi so I am working on this sample as I have 1 month on this so far and out of a total 690 mi to date on this oil, I have 510 of it towing 9K TT. Will go 7500 or 8 months as I live in nc. Almost Always plug it in if it's below 50 in the cooler months!*

Just checked the sticker the dealer put on my windshield after the last change. He said 1 yr or 6k miles.

That sticker has no bearing on anything-anybody can put whatever they want on that sticker. It does not supercede the oem requirement/recomendation

FYI, The Carquest 96332 is the Baldwin BD7317 Dual Flow oil filter. Got mine for under $10. Google these Dual Flow filter benefits, and you'll switch, too. These actually catch most of the suspended soot in the oil.

And do you work for Carquest? Do you own a RAM truck?

No, and yes. I've owned (2) 2004.5 2500 Cummins, a 2010 2500 6.7 Cummins, and, now, a 2016 2500 6.7 Cummins. **** you very little. I don't work at Carquest, just found a great Baldwin dual flow filter for a great price...Just tryin to help out the community. Why don't you read up (ever heard of bobistheoilguy.com?) on this before being an instant *******.

Anyone on here knows that the Fleetguard/Mopar filters are TOP quality. Why take a chance with a possible warranty denial?

15K use report at 30K on the clock. Oil looks darn good. Fleetguard filter.

Warranty denial? My ***. These aren't $4 Amazon Chinese filters, bud. These are on-par with Fleetguard Venturi filters which, apparently, no one here had even heard of. I've been an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic since 1991, and overhaul everything from hydraulics to gas turbine (jet) engines, and Detroit diesel 440v generators. #ad

Hey Randy, instead of telling people the certs you have, and what filter to buy, start by asking if anyone has used them. yes you might have found a great filter, but when people see you having only 16 posts, they don't take kindly to people telling them fyi such n such is a great filter.
I have used them, and the fleetguard version, and saw zero difference in oil reports from a standard filter. so it didn't last long in my book.
besides that, the cold flow rate doesn't match what cummins recommends.

so maybe take a backseat to the recommending, and name calling, the people here are die hard cummins and dodge people, and it would be hard pressed to get them to break from their routine and what they consider the tried and true.

The Baldwin filters are very good quality, but the High Velocity Dual Flow design is only made for the larger over the road and off road engines. It is not available for 5.9 or 6.7 ISB engines. So you might as well stay with the Fleetguard filters that were designed for your engine.

You get what you pay for and I have proved that to myself many times over!! Fleetguard Stanapore (owned by Cummins) from Geno's and Shell rotella T-6 recommended by Cummins (usually on sale $22/gal wherever I can find it on sale) and don't care what FCA/Mopar RAM say -- IMO only!

Geno's has the stratopore Fleetguard LF16035 for $13.95.

Probably a couple more dollars for shipping if I buy a bunch?

I don't see a reason to buy an off brand $10 filter

Check this out Called the dealer for two fuel filter change and oil and filter change on the 2014 hold on boys I was quoted at $523.00 Doing it myself Ski
