Here was my last Blackstone oil analysis at ~256,000mi just for comparison.

While on this subject of filters, and not to muddy the water here, but what is the general consensus on the Donaldson (blue) filter? Is it generally considered superior to the OEM/Fleetguard filter? I used one on my last oil change and didn't have any problems (that I know of) and it is a bit inconvenient to work with because it is totally smooth (notches are absent to aid in removal) but if it does a "better" job than Mopar OEM and/or Fleetguard, I will stick with Donaldson.

Why do people try to reinvent the wheel. The Fleetguard Stratapore LF16035 is the best and safest to use. 15.03 on Amazon Prime, and I will have it in two days.

Did my two fuel filter yesterday in about 30 minutes. 70+ for the Mopar ones from Amazon Prime.

Ones under back seat when on and one that just arrived replaced them as spares.

Mobil 1 3309 gets picked up this morning at our mail drop by DW. Will do that next week and oil change (Delo 400 LE/ 3 gals for 34+ bucks at Costco) the first week of June.

SNOKING

I don't know if it's accurate. But see this graphic on the cummins filtration website. Use the filter that doesn't void warranty while on warranty.

Better safe than sorry.

My OA's have come back better since I've been using the DBL7349's. Not sure if it was a coincidence or just that my higher mileage truck is done wearing in.

I am sorry to ask but i have been looking at the Donaldson site and on google and have gotten nowhere. Is that dbl7349 for our trucks? I can not seem to find a list of filters that cross to the fleet guard and Mopar. The spec on the Donaldson looks good so i will pick some up for my next change. But, i do not want a filter made for a stationary generator or off road equipment. I wish their site said this is for the Ram with 6.7. Instead it talks about Kubota equipment. I was set to just run fleet guards and forget it. But, if these are better i will change. I have seen some with built in bypasses but they are not for our trucks even though guys run them.

Please show us that it is on RAM approved list.

Media put out by Cummins Filtration say that concerns when buying oil filter should not just be oil flow capacity, but also dirt-holding capacity. These videos and publications also speak of sludge control. Now if you run a high quality oil, hopefully that will help your filter deal with sludge control. But it is also important to go with a filter that the manufacturer guarantees dirt-holding capacity (up to 15,000 miles) ......in my opinion.

Thanks for the information. Saving it for future use. Do you have a good online source to purchase this filter? The price on the link you posted looks great. Thanks

At 120,001 miles or 8 years and 1 day, I might consider something different, not. I have only used Fleetguard filters and I am on my third RAM and had two 4B150's in the boat for 19 years and 2800+ hours. Snoking

I actually have a friend that works at WorldWide Equipment in Lexington, KY in their body shop department. He sourced those for me through a friend in their Parts Department. At one time, I was getting the filters for $11.41 each with his employee discount. They keep these filters in stock as they have a decent service base of Freightliner trucks equipped with the Cummins ISB 6.7L's.

That's fine, SNOKING. No one here is forcing YOU to cease and desist using either the Fleetguard or OEM MOPAR oil filters. I'm on my 6th new RAM/Cummins (and have owned two used RAM/Cummins....golly I feel better that I made this public  ). I'm just sharing info (I thought this was what TDR was about) regarding filtering abilities amongst various manufacturers.

On a sidenote.......can you provide a current RAM/Cummins approved or unapproved filter list???

Is the Donaldson DBL 7349 the same as the ELF 7349?

I will stick with the LF16035 until my maxcare is up. After that, I will use the cheapest high quality filter available.

I suppose they could deny warranty for something oil related because I'm using an bypass filter. But I can remove that in minutes.

The DBL replaced the ELF.

Choosing to run something else beside Fleetguard will not void your warranty...not sure where that notion is coming from. Stick with a quality filter and there will be no problems....Donaldson makes some of the most efficient and best flowing filtration media on the market, air, fuel, and oil. It is all our crane service techs use (oil, air, fuel, hyd). We've got machines well north of 12k hours that run severe duty environments. Much worse than your typical pickup will ever see.

The same is said for oil. Do you only run Mopar or Shell branded oil?

A Marketing dept is not the best source for accurate info.
