Scanners/code readers

Hey Fellas,

I'm looking for a scanner to read trouble codes including brakes for my '03 and would also like to use it on my '96 Chevy Caprice SS. I want to be able to read live data streams/read,clear codes including the brake system. I'm not looking to spend $500,but the closest I've found is the Actron 3499N at $420. Since I'm not running a shop or using the scanner everyday,something else has to be available for the occasional use.



How bout some recommends?

I really like my ScanGuageII /X-Guage (around 180. 00) It will display 4 separate guages (25 to pick from) at the same time (mine is velcroved to the dash 24x7) and is aslo programmable (in hex code) to add up to 25 custom guages. It does reset CEL (on chevies & fords), but not Dodge! My expensive Autoxray scanner won't reset Dodge either!
