Many years ago I did the silencing of the seat belt chimes when driving off road without the belts engaged. Just purchased a 2023 RAM and cannot find the instructions I made to do this. Something about engaging the seat belt and turn the switch on and off three times within 30 seconds. But I don't know if you start with it connected or wait until the switch is on and then leave it connected until turning off.. And now I have a push button start. If I recall you use the accessory position and do not start the truck. Does anyone have the correct sequence of this?

And yes, I looked for the thread on this but did not find it. Might go too far back. Appreciate the help. The dang things are making me deaf(er) when I drive off road.

The grapevine says it must be done by a dealer - or with Alfa.

Your manual says that too.

I heard that as well but someone, I believe on TDR, posted picking up a 2023 and was able to do it the way we did before. I just cannot find that exact method.

1-Forum report for 2022-23:
2-Start with seatbelt on and truck off.
3-Press start button with foot Off brake twice to run position
4-unbuckle and buckle your seatbelt 3 times
5-Foot on brake and press start button then turn the truck off
5-Open door.

Same thing I’ve seen for 2023’s. I can’t recall if my 2022 took 2 iterations of step 4 or 3, but I know the 23’s are reported to take 3 unlike older trucks.

That seems to have worked John and Steve. Drove around the driveway and no dings. Thank you for resurrecting this method. Now I have to see if I can get around the tire pressure monitor. Wants me at 65 PSI on the rear. Too much unless I'm hauling or towing. This nanny stuff is irritating.

JScan or AlfaOBD can change the TPMS threshold, or make it TPIS.

@Mike Wenrich, AflaOBD is such a handy tool for the toolbox! I changed the minimum for the rears to 45psi to avoid the dash light and warning dings! You find many uses for the software, just remember that you'll need the security bypass cable, and a Bluetooth dongle like the MX+ along with that it runs on Android or Windows. If you have an Iphone, just pick up an Android tablet to use with it. Once you get it, ask the questions and someone will help you with it. I've turn on the DRL feature on my truck, the VTA (vehicle theft alarm) and programmed extra Fobs. First thing you'll need to do once you get it is to save the truck config file to restore if something doesn't work the way it should. All pretty easy to navigate through. We're here to help! If/When I get the tool, as Arnold said, I'll be back. Pretty certain all the tech stuff will have me cornfused. And this site has been soooo beneficial to me. As well as the TDR quarterly issue. It's a gearheads Mecca.

One more update. I reduced the air in the rear tires and I get the low on air icon and the screen goes to the tire pressure display but....no ding, even when driving. I can scroll out of the screen but when I start up again the tire screen is there first. Still looking into this. But the truck does ride better.
