Ok I know this is an older topic. Did the search and found no useful answers except "its an $800 seat assembly from DC. "

Has anyone replaced their seats with aftermarket seats?

Also has anyone found a replacement motor that could be swapped in for these?

Thanks

I Had looked and found nothing. As me truck is only driven by a few people I decided to remove the broken seat adjuster and replace it with a solid steel bar with the seat fixed in the position I wanted... A bit of work but wil never break again.

So it would appear that my search for a feasible do it yourself repair begins.

Where did yours break? I am assuming you are talking about your lumbar adjuster. Mine broke a year ago. The adjustment knob popped our (the white threaded piece broke at the end attached to the lumbar strap). I, too, was told I'd have to buy a new seat. What I did was buy a small threaded eyebolt at the Home Despot and drilled out the center of my adjuster piece. I secured it with a lock nut. I had to use a dremel to get the nut to not interfere with the adjuster knob. I then reinstalled the pin on the strap through the eye in the eyebolt. It doesn't get quite as tight as new, but at least me seat doesn't have that "caved in" feel. I don't have pictures, but I could get them sometime if there's enough interest. I recently had shoulder surgery so I'm not very nimble right now.

Oops. My bad.

Different problem. But anybody that has had their manual lumbar knob fail has been told the same thing - "you have to buy a new seat assembly", so I'll leave this post.

My old 06 QC had a missing lumbar knob... . Under warranty and fixed for nothing, But I know they didn't replace the entire seat as I still had the "rocking chair" syndrome when I got it back.

Try the junkyards in your area?

I hit these guys and found their recaro mt1s. Sweat seat but I bet theyre about $4K a pop. I will get a price soon.

So my quest now is for an aftermarket motor maker to replace the garbage motors. The ones in my Jeep Grand looks suspiciously the same but have nearly 15 years of abuse on them without failure.

You could just buy an ebay seat. I replaced my cloth interior with a leather set from ebay. I'd make you a deal on my cloth set but you'd have to be close cause I'm not shipping them.
