I just replaced the drivers side rear seat lift motor with a new one from 2men1garage.com. That was a piece of cake. I also replaced the drivers side seat cushion
with the one from Genos. Believe it or not, I cant get the bolt holes on the seat frame to line up with the actuator tabs. I have more time into reinstalling the seat bottom than I do replacing the motor and the cushion! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.#@$%!#@$%!

I forget if all bolt holes have the swivel, just the front, just the back, or all 4??? anyhow I do remember there are two sets of holes (I think on the rear of the seat bum) so possibly your in the wrong hole? I hate when that happens :--) sorry couldn't resist...

Got it figured out. All set. Motor works great and the new cushion is unbelievable. Don't hesitate to do this easy job if your old seat is shot. I'm sorry I waited so long

I did the same. Question, is it possible to get this back together incorrectly? I feel like I sit way to high now. Could be the new foam is that much higher? I have short legs and a long toroso and have always positioned the seat as low as it will go. While everything seems to work, not liking how high I sit now so wondering if somehow I screwed up the motor replacement or if the Gene's replacement foam is just quite a bit thicker?

I’m sure it’s just the new cushion. You’re just back to where it was when new. You’ll get used to it.

I’ll post this just to help someone later that finds this thread.

The mounts on the seat frame pivot, so if you’ll recline the seat back and hold the front of the cushion up, you can start the rear screws easily because you can see where they go. Then let the front down on the mounts and swivel the mount to where it’s flat against the cushion. The holes should line right up. Don’t tighten any bolts until you get them all started.

At first I thought maybe there was a "calibration" step or something I might of missed putting the rear height motor on, but it travels full length of lead screw, so I am guessing this new Geno's foam must be it. For long toroso folks it is an issue, I am looking at the headliner above the windshield. I have driven a few hundred miles now and am kinda getting used to it, but knowing what I know now, not sure about the replacement upgrade foam, too much of a good thing can be bad too.

No, replaced rear height motor, added new foam and a new seat cover. I think the new foam just sits at least an inch if not more higher, I have a long torso and I think it just elevates me too much.

Shelby, give it some time to wear in = new seat cushion should "relax" a bit after a month or so. Thinking about doing the new cushion and bum cover on mine. I couldn't find a decent driver side replacement in a parts yard so I got a pass side and shimmed-up the one side (between bottom of bum frame and seat riser frame) to "sort of" level it out. Problem is the side material that now faces the drivers door (when opened) is vinyl versus material and it quickly cracked since the vinyl is less forgiving than the material, had I been able to find correct drivers side seat bum...

I still have the OEM foam and cover just in case! Really mine wasn't that bad, I just decided to replace it while seat was out for the motor replacement.

Both covers and foam for both driver and passenger are now available at Geno's in case you weren't aware.

Shelby, I just got the TDR quarterly and was happy to see in the Geno's catalog that the seat foam and cover (in Agate) were available, Thanks. A bit too much $$$ for me right now and since the acquired passenger seat is in good shape I'll hold off.
