The Bubble and the Bear

Hey guys, the wife has a diabetes conference in Seattle and I am tagging along. Anything that is a must to see. I like to sight see. I have two and a half days there. Thanks.

Mount St. Helens

If the weather is good it is well worth the trip.

Actually, any direction out of Seattle is great(don't like the City myself). If the weather is good think about staying a few extra days, lots to see if you like the mountains and water.

North Cascades Highway, Hurricane Ridge, San Juan Islands, to mention a few.

When are you coming?

What are your interests? I might be able to help you out. :)

There is fishing, biking, hiking, cultural, sightseeing, etc.

Good food, excellent microbrewery beer, pikes market, space needle, EMP.

So what would float your boat?

All of the Above!

I'll be there July 11th - 14th

The Seattle Zoo is awesome. There are great boat tours of the harbor as well as tours of the Seattle Underground. The Open Market at Pike Street is a blast. Most importantly try to get tickets to the Mariners at Safeco Field--it is the BEST field in professional baseball. The Space Needle is surrounded by the Seattle Center which is a cultural wonderland with more than a days worth of information/sites to keep you busy. Seattle is the most fun City in the Northwest!

Are there any recommended whale watching vessels? I would love to do that. I miss being out on the ocean (Naval Service) and seeing the different whales, dolphins, etc.

I plan on making the zoo, the space needle, and a trip out to sea. Not bad for 2 1/2 days.

BOEING SUCKS

What about a tour of one of the Boeing factories?

Boeing did away with plant tours many moon ago

Boeing is NOT a SEATTLE, WA Company any more, Christ Boeing cut 30K jobs in the area since 9/11

Boeing is looking at a 9/1 strike too :(

I know Boeing HQ moved to Chicago but I didn't know they had cut out the factory tours.

Boeing has been hiring/firing for longer than most can remember. If there is no demand for a product why would a company keep employees on the payroll?

Brian

I don't work there

its called off loading -sub contracting- do it overseas for less money.

Do you know how many terriorist would love a Boeing tour?

Hell there are claims that terorist are checking out our ferry system.

I've heard there are alot of fairies out there, or was that San Francisco?;)

So, what's the scoop on whale tours?

Eric,

If you got time... shoot up to Abbotsford and go meet up with Bill and Piers... they'll definately entertain you for a day... LOL

Kev

Take the San Tour

Even if you don't see any whales, the scenery alone is worth the trip. We are having great weather right now. You couldn't have picked a better time to come to the NW.

Whatever you do, do it outdoors.

If you need anything while you are here feel free to call.

My cell number is 253-709-0110 day or night.

I know Bob doesn't like Boeing but?????

They make the best commercial airliner - in fact the universal statement I hear is _"Boeing is Best". I have 6 inlaws who are main line pilots - Delta, American, Conteniental & Southwest. But there is one good thing to sea at Boeing - the Boeing Air Museum - http://www.museumofflight.org/. Hey they have Nixon's Air Force One that you can go through, as well as see a Blackbird, sit in a SR 71 Cockpit etc. They have a lot of aircraft to see. Check out the video on the WEB. Cost $9. 75 to go through. Located south end of Boeing Field. Now Seattle - I would defy anybody to pick a place in the US, or for that matter the world, where you can draw a 100 mile radius - 200 mile circle - that you'll find near as many different ecosystems to visit, and natural wonders to see. You can go from 130+" of rainfall to less than 10. The highest snowfall in the world - well - there is a lifetime fo stuff to see in Seattle. Hey I love sports - but you can watch that stuff - well in NEW YOUK CITY! Take advantage of the stuff you don't see at home -

I don't hate Boeing

Boeing does manufacture the best airplane in the world.

And all of your Seattle comments are right on :)

Thanks Mr. Bob, I booked a ride on that cruise. She said they have seen a whale pod everyday recently. Even if I don't see one, I will like the being out on the water.

Is the Aquarium downtown worth the I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER? Tomorrow is the space needle, and possibly the aquarium.

Anyone that wants to join me on the whale watching cruise is welcome to join me.

Boeing still has the tours. I know, I STILL work there. If you get the chance email me and I'll try to take you on a private tour.
