Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Second gear starts

Does anyone have the "cure" for second gear starts ? Changed the soleniod and governor pressure sensor already, have to stop, turn off engine & restart before I get a first gear start, they last for 2 to 3 stops, then back to second gear starts.



Vehicle is 2001 3500 Qcab FWD Sport, has 4" exhaust, Afe air filter, Edge COMP box, Fass fuel system, and 3 guages on pillar.



Problem started after trans. rebuild/upgrade, showing codes 1763 and 1693. Cleared them & they came right back. What might cause the high voltage in the governor pressure sensor?

On My rig a lil potetiometer / rheostat thingy controls voltage so seccond gear starts aren't an issue. I rattled it once pretty good knocking it out of whack and sure enough it started a seccond gear start. So under the hood I went and brought it back into the 4 volt range. Scott himself did the install along with the rest of the DTT trans Give him a shout [1-508-660-7093] I'm sure he could explain it better.

Thanks for the referal, called Scott and to make a long story short, I put some resisters in line to cut down the voltage - - - - put 50 miles on her and no second gear starts. Glad that's over!!!!
