Hi

I would love to get some advice on a complete setup from the those that have experience with different programming modules.

I have just bought a 2005 2500 4x4 quad with the auto trans, that was an insurance claim and had the front axle broke and the front bumper pushed into the cooling system. I have replaced the stock intercooler with a Banks Tech Cooler. Other than that it is stock.

I have preliminarily set a budget of $2,000 - $3,000 for parts and want to end up with a dependable very well running truck that has selectable levels for economy and performance. I am guessing that I am looking for say 400-450 hp and 800 tq or more. I really do not want something that is going to be busting parts on a regular basis. I know there is a chance (maybe likely) I will need to beef up and rebuild the transmission, but that will be later.

I am figuring on a 4 or 5" exhaust, cat delete, and a good air intake filter setup.

Any perferences on these and especially modules or combination of the above with a certain module would be great. What is the best (in your opinion) and who has the bugs worked out.

I currently have a 97 CTD with a Banks PowerPack that i have ran for 6 years that I have been fairly happy with, and have sometimes wished for more power.

I have no knowledge on programming modules and I am open to advice.

thanks in advance

if you don't have the money for the trans you need to soon (at least a tourque convertor and valve body with a ats flex plate. but i would go with a triple dog downloader. a egt, trans and boost gauge with a triple pillar pod, (turbo depends on what you do with the truck) a industrial injection turbo and afe airfilter combo, a fass 150, that will be about 3500 you can leave off the fass for 3k but you will need it soon with all that power. what ever you buy i don't recomend bd at all they have done me wrong and i have had 1 twin turbo, 3 intercoolers, 1 boost fooler, and 3 trans go bad from them all within a few 1000 miles. if you wana play your gona pay! good luck and if you need a place to order all about diesel will give you a good deal talk to carl and tell him cody sent ya. i have bought most of my stuff from him.

Thank you for the tips. the bully dog looks like a nice product. i like the extra added features of running foglamps with the headlights and automatic door locking. Also being able to reset codes could be a great help.

There Bully Dog PMT product looks way cool with a very nice screen. i think it is the best looking product that i have seen. The one thing i do not care for too much is these seem to be limited to 3 on board power settings. While that may be enough, i like the TST product that has ablility to toggle up thru 10 power settings until you can find the one that your truck is most happy with while keeping EGT's in check. However the TST does not have the looks. it is kinda plain.

Am i looking at this correct. ?
