het guys just got back from stealership for an AC diagnose. Looks like both lines need replaced and accumulator drier is plugged. They want over $1200 for the fix and I told them I will think about it. I have found an actual radiator shop that will do the work for half the cost. Any way my question is why would they even mention the tensioner? Just to replace the tensioner is over $300. This part cannot be that hard to replace right? I do have a service manual for my truck. Any of you replace the tensioner b4 and if so is it hard or pretty easy?

Replacing the belt tensioner is a 20 minute job. If the tensioner truly is shot, you can order one through Geno's for around 50 bucks. They also offer the pulley only in the event just the bearing is bad for less than half the price of a tensioner. Another option if your bearing is bad, and if you have some good parts guys, is to take your pulley in and see if they can match the bearing. As long as you have the steel pulley and not the cheap replacement plastic job on your truck they should be able to find a replacement bearing for a couple bucks.
