Well My next bomb look like its going to be injectors , Mild Not Wild

Daily Driver , Longevity is a major role as well as drivabillity

Smoke Is Not An Issue ;)

Set Backs ????

EGTs can become an issue if you are still stock turboed. Maybe look at an HX 40 from HTT or PDR. What size are you looking at, and are you going with Don M. s Mach series??

Will you do any heavy (over 10k) towing, or will the other truck get that work? If you get a HX-40, you will want bigger sticks than "mild" ones. It takes more fuel to light them up good.

I wasn't happy with spool-up on mine prior to sliding the plate full forward. Sliding the plate and looosing up the AFC spring, (and definantly after adding the 191s) made a HUGE improvement. Now I've run into a bit of a problem after adding the 191s. Need more turbo. Hitting 44# boost and 1400* (if the boost isn't over 38# when the fuel comes on hard). If the boost is over 40, the EGTS come down some.

If you will tow light, or none, I think a HTT HTB2 with a 62 or 64mm compressor wheel and 'gated 12cm2 turbine housing would be a good setup. One "bad" thing though, it will clear up the smoke when boost comes up. I know it does on WaynesWorld's truck, and he is probably over 450hp (high EGTs and doesn't tow with it, though).

Minimal to No towing ,

My 2002 is an auto ,,,, ive ditched the HY35 -9 and have a HX35 -12 on now

Keeping the EGTs in check is the only set back ?

Not looking at any inparticular

If you are looking at longevity, I would not get too carried away. The more you beat on an engine the less it will last. If you are wanting a hot rod, go with the phat shaft 66 and mach 4s. That will get an easy 500 horse. What Edge box?

I've run both mach 1. 5's & 3. 8's from Formula 1. I actually got improved milage over the stock sticks. The down side? The throttle is very sensitive & it's easy to make smoke if I step down to fast. btw, my 1. 5's are up for sale.

Formula 1 Mach 1. 6's are a great injector, you can town all day long with your original turbo. They actaully run cooler under normal operations than the OEM injectors. Most customers see a slight improvement in mpg as well.

I think I may hold off on injectors till spring . .

I Dont want to go too small and have to buy another set and I dont want to go too big and need to upgrade my charger .

Will take some thought to pick whats right for me .

I really just wanted to know of any driveabillity issues that may result from this BOMB ,,, transmission shifts harder I imagine ??? Cold Natured any ??? stuff like that

Thanks Guys

DM, The 1. 5s are 80 HP, the 1. 6s are 85 HP. Mike

My 1. 5's were rated as 85 hp by Don when he first put them on the market. They sported a new angle he said netted 5 more hp with no smoke. I think he rated the 1. 6's at 90 hp. but I'm not sure on that.

All the Mach series injectors from Formula 1 are very drivable relatively cool & clean burning. You are at the limits of your stock HY9 with just the Comp. A switch to just a stock HX35 12 would allow a lot more fueling. The 1. 5's & 1. 6's would both work fine for you but with out the turbo upgrade you have to watch it with your Comp turned up very far.

chad,

my rv275's were a nice upgrade. but if i were to do it all again i would probably go bigger. we just put a set in icoleman's truck last weekend. i think they were dd2's. they might have been 3's. give him a shout and he will probably give you some input.

You always go too small with your first set of Injectors... . its a law of bobming. Once you have power you always want more.

Go with a set of DD2's or F1 1. 5. These are above the RV275's and either will perform better.

I had DD3's and an HX35-12 (PDR special) and without the box on I could drive all day and not have any EGT trouble. Turn on the box and the heat came on.

Chad-

Mark helped install a set of DD3's and with the edge box its a blast to drive, Im sure once I get my DTT things will be ALOT better :D fuel consumption is another factor. Im sure Id do pretty good on fuel but my truck is driven on the weekends and I've been smoke happy since the install (THANKS MARK & CHAZ), Im not going back to stock. wow this is my best upgrade with the comp so far!!!

I would like to upgrade to the Mach 1. 6 85 HP and the Dodgezilla turbo, my concern is heat while pulling, I tow every day and the load veries from 6500 # to 12,000 pounds.

My egts are manageable now but climb fast when I pull a long hill with a load.

My question is would this be a good working combination.

Thanks TJ

No Joke. I started with DD2s and then got the latest Mach 4s in July.

Now I'm considering 6s based on how clean the 4s are:) Oh, with a stock turbo and clutch, too:--)

I added an edge comp to the truck first. Night and day difference than stock. Next I added the DDII injectors and I would do all my driving with just the injectors (box turned off). I couldn't help myself and kept turning the box on - just to make sure it still worked ;)

Now I'm replacing my clutch :(

The DDII's were worth a nice increase in power, smoke is not a problem.

The only issue I forsee is driving on ice, with bigger injectors comes a more sensitive throttle. It justs takes some commen sense and easy driving to do it, however I think it will be more of a issue than in the stock configuration.

My problem in this regard is going to be my new clutch, the SBC Con FE is very grabby :D
