As long as you get Dons f1 injectors you will be all #ad
s

The more injector and less box you end up with the smoother it will all drive in the end.

OK Im pretty sure Im going with RV275"s for a few reasons .

1- Price

2- Avalibillity

3- A slight change to see where im at with the rest of the truck

4- Winters around the corner I dont want to throw in some big HP Injectors and be slip sliding

I have plenty of power but I would like more smoke ,,,,and more power :>

I hope I dont have to go to Mach 9's before I find my spot

My Suncoast Shifts HARD and if it shifts any harder Im fairly confident that when it shifts under throtle with snowy roads Im going to be slip sliding . I dont want to make it worst

So thats where Im at at this point in time .

And the RV275's Seem like a cheap ,HP Gaining , Smoke Gaining , Driveable set of sticks for a starter set .

Are RV275's the same as 3 hole injectors ??????????

Thanks to every one so far for the info .

Chad,

Don't be a dingbat! ;) 275s will be a waste of your time and $$, 1. 6s will be a nice mild upgrade to get you started.

Thanks Guys,,

I already have the HX35 12 and ditched the Hy-9

Mark do you have any smoke with the Rv's ? I dont want to go too Wild here

I have towed with both the 275's and the F1 1. 6's with the stock charger.

The EZ/275's combo is awesome for towing. The EZ/1. 6 is a great setup as well the only difference being, I have to drive my truck differently. With the 275 combo I could pull the 5r more in 5th and 6th. Egt's were almost a none worry.

With the F1 setup I have to watch my Egt's more closely, but empty man is the truck fun to drive! :-laf When towing with this setup I run the rpm's up around 2250 whereas with the 275's I could cruise at 1800. Heat is not an issue.

All said and done I'd say go for the 1. 6's your stock turbo will work fine. :D

BTW my 5r weighs in at 8k.

Phil

Theres a few things to consider prior to buying injectors. Gear ratio, Tire size, & Terrain should all be factored in if you tow. I towed bone stock with an auto, 285s & stock injectors, no heat issues but a little weak pulling a #8k 5vr. I added an EZ & that was a nice improvement & Heat not much of a issue. I added DD II's & it was a friggin nightmare on a long winding road that I couldn't maintain lockup on. Out of lockup EGTs soared, after shifting down into 2nd gear EGTs were controlleable but the auto trans temps started climbing too FAST. I had to have my brother pull my 5vr up the grade. It was a huge dissappointment! All that power & not useable in that particular situation. I may have had a boost leak at the time because later on the trip I threw a boot twice on the way home. I guess my point would be if you go to hotter sticks with an auto & you run larger that stock tires & run 3. 5s I hope you don't pull curvy hills. I FRIGGIN hated it! I'm going to swap to 4. 10s this year so I can effectively run hotter sticks & avoid what I went through last time going over Waterville Hill in Eastern Washington.

FWIW this summer I got caught in a couple of spots in Eastern WA. with the 275\EZ combo while pulling the 5vr that brought my truck to it's knees. Friggin 3. 5s, tall tires, & the Auto trans just doesn't perform like a truck with a standard transmission or a truck with 4. 10s IMHO.

Chad, come on!!!

Ask "R-N-R" Bill will let ya know how it is, as well as "Proturbo99" Chaz they are a excellent upgrade!! I have Chazs' set and Drew Wentworth "Blue-Beast" has Bills set of DD3's

They arnt huge yet dont lack power or smoke!! :D If you are worried about shifting issues in the snow just turn the box off, mild power is still there add the box for more fun!!

you'll have to get Chaz or Bill to chime in on how they are with a upgraded trans since my stock doesnt shift hard hahah :-laf

Ian

LOL ,,,

Still undecided here :>

I can get a few diffrent sets of 275's for around $250

If I get Mach's or DD it looks like its going to be $500 plus ... .

If Im going to do injectors right now they would have to be the 275's or I can wait till spring and get something bigger .

I dont want to have to upgrade my charger again.

I dont want to make my truck un drivable again , with Bombs

I dont want to spend any more Money on my truck this year , Im well over $5000

Thanks for all the information guys

DD3s go for around $300. Do a search and/or start looking through signatures for 2s or 3s and make offers, you will find somebody on the fence with upgrading to M?s. Call a few dealers and ask about their holiday specials! If they don't already have something in mind, they might after talking to you. Another approach is to ask the dealers if they have any traded in injectors they would like to unload. There is more for sale than is listed in the classifieds... "Wheel and deal" my friend, it's what makes the world go around! btw, you are ONLY well over $5k this year! :-laf

On the driveability note..... Keep in mind how you use your truck. Driving around OH (mostly flat), no towing/dragging/pulling. This gives you much more option than anybody involved with the type of driving that you do not do. I hear you on going overboard, been there myself this year. However, an HX and mild injectors (<= 100hp) are already proven to be a good combo, ..... unlike oh um say a 21cm charger/catcher/stock sticks combo ;)

YEP! He's sssooooo gone ..... down the slippery slope! :-laf

You might as well start planning for flycuts/cam/ports/twins/..... :-laf :-laf

LOL

Thats the - Comp 5x5/21cm charger/catcher/stock sticks combo

Yuck ! Below 50 MPH but over that watch out ... HEehehe

I getting a set of 275's equivalent EDM injectors (about 40~50 HP) for pay it foward to run for a few weeks Till I make up how big im going and all that stuff .

Maybe just stick 6 water hoses down in there :>

DM - sam boat here, I got the itch to run something, the EZ was fun but the thrill is missing, that turbo just doesnt spool fast enough, it just needs more fuel and smoke of course.

RV275s would be great, I figure with those, the un-avoidable upgrade can be done (send in you stockers for cores) with very little down time, then sell your 275s to someone who was in the same boat as you.

That's my logic at least.

if i found dd3's for 300 i would buy them. i paid like 280 for my 275's. but back then i didnt want to go too radical. going to a couple of meets changed that. lol.
