I just got a HO TD with the 6 spd. This is the first manual transmission diesel I have owned, and it seems to have power at every RPM. What is the best rpm range to use befor e shifting? What about down shifts?
I've found 2200-2300 rpm to be a good upshift point running unloaded on flat ground. The heavier the load the higher the upshift point running loaded. On the downshift I match the engine and driveline speed before letting out the clutch.
