Hey yall,
Time for new shocks on my truck. I do have a ranchhand bumper on the truck, so looking for a better shock than stock that can handle increased weight.
Bilsteins would be a good choice. The coil springs support the extra weight, the shocks just control it and the Bilsteins will do a good job of that. I had a heavy Reunel bumper on the front of mine and it was fine with those.
I went with Eibach shocks. Made in the US . I liked that they are black with red lettering. Very happy with them.
I have no added weight so in the front, but always pull a trailer with about 10k ponds.
I went with the black & silver 5100 Bilsteins, 0-2.5", my truck is lifted with coils in the front and a 1" block in the rear, couldn't be happier with them.
Just a thought here... I helped a friend do shocks on his truck and my CP 1/2" air gun wouldn't remove the lower fasteners.... so I grabbed a 1/2 breaker bar and pipe and actually broke the tools.... THAN it dawned on me that the fasteners don't have lock washers.... and I assume that the bolt was installed with a thread adhesive... I grabbed my propane torch and hit each fastener for 20-30 seconds and than grabbed the air wrench again..... and of course the bolts zipped off.... so just for the fun of it I grabbed a 3/8" ratchet and socket..... and after heating the bolt I could easily remove it with the thread adhesive heated/melted/warmed...... Of course I used new thread adhesive when the bolts went back in.....

KYB Monomax here. Improve rides over stock when not towing. No change noticed when towing. Nice Red shock. On the short list was the Bilstein 4600 - hey nice yellow shock, but I went with price and a desire to try the Monomax truck shock. Anyone make an apple green shock?... Also, your choice is limited if you have a 2WD truck.
