After this last hunting trip I wanted a 10' bed again. . Truck weighed in at 10,380 with 5/8 fuel, and was stacked 2' above the rails for half the bed. . Sideboards are in the works.

I had a QC SB for 10 years and I'd still be driving it if it wasn't a 1/2T. I think it's the best looking. The QC LB looks unbalanced. Of course the QC dually looks fabulous too and can't be beat for hauling stuff. If I did any daily city driving then it would still be a QC SB.

I disagree. . In general I think SB trucks are goofy lookin Oo.

Dont spend allot of time in parking lots so I dont care if its hard to park like TboneMan I park in the outback to avoid door ding's and the subsequent church key to their paint job by me . But one reason for the long bed is that some half wit in calif. thought it would be fun to make the freeway's in 10 foot sections and it just seems like the LB rides over the seams better than the SB

A longer bed will out sale the short around here in SW IN. We are in farming country. And they was not made to pull a fifth wheel trailer

Personally I like the look of the 2nd gen short bed better than the long bed. And, no matter what the say, a longer vehicle is going to be harder to drive in parking lots and in traffic.

That being said; If I had it do do over again, I would have boughten a long bed, regular cab, with a manual transmission. (woulda, coulda, shoulda... ... )

cant fit a Harley in a short bed with the tail gate up... I am for long beds and Harley's. I adapted my driving habits for my riding habits. Besides the long bed does ride better!!!

My vote is for a long box. Have had 3 short and 5 long boxes with the fifth wheel I love having the long box and can put 100gal aux tank in with it. Love my long box will park in the back 40 and walk. but most big citys don't like big vehicles. :)

Well I agree on the long bed post. I finally found a truck and it turned out to be a short bed. It is just like the other 01 I previously owned except the color is Patriot Blue.

thanks to all the replies.
