2011 Dutchmen Colorado. "Camping" in Yosemite, July 2011. :-laf

I just hate it when you have to rough it like that, don't you? :-laf If/when I have kids they will get to go camping in tents, REAL camping. So they can appreciate how damn nice it is to even just have a sink... much less all the other crap we carry with us in these big mobile homes.

"camping"

Yeah, it seems the closest I can get my wife to roughing it any more is going somewhere we have to fire up the generator to watch the flatscreen; but this bigger 5th has been a great excuse to mod the truck!

I was personally very much on the fence about a new 6. 7L or a 24v 5. 9 w/ some mods... but after looking at these new crew cabs, and driving the (a6) 68RFE truck, I was sold. I'd still like to have a manual personally, but, I also like having the power. And I didn't want to buy a new truck, then spend a bunch of time and effort swapping out a clutch, adding a chip, exhaust, and probably an aux/od transmission like I would've w/ say a 4500 DRW (with an m6)

rasteck, were the Yosemite spots big enough for a 40' Toy Hauler? I'm most likely going to Yellowstone next year and will be checking before I get there to see if they have big rig spots.

There are about 4-6 spots that could hold you down in the valley. The hardest part is navigating the turns to/from your site. You're about 4' longer than me and your truck's longer and wider; but I bet you could do it. We go a couple times a year and I don't claim to be a pro at manuevering this beast.

The spot in the pic's was a double right by the checkin for Lower Pines but I had to go thru one of the loops to come back and be facing the right direction to back in. I turned more than a few heads.

PM me and I'll send you the sites you're most likely to fit into. Then, reservations are a whole other issue. :-laf

Our plan is to hit Yellowstone next year.

Patience is the key. You don't have to be The God Of The Parallel 53' Tractor Trailer+Pup Tandem Park to get it done. Just have to have patience, that's the biggest key. Most of the time the best bet is to take your time. Get out and look too if you're not sure.

This is the Tamgo the day we bought it. It's a good entry level RV, It's been up to Oregon a couple times and all around the local forests without any problems. Hoping to move up to a good 5'er in the future. The little F-150 didn't like pulling it so my wife let me trade it for the Goat. :D
