have a shudder when going into lockup 3rd and od. Im pretty sure its my t/c but I've heard a dieing vp and timing can shudder. don't have the wire tapped. I tryed a superchips tuner and didn't get a shudder. gots the 0216 dtc also

anyone have a similar situation?

just wondering which part my money is going to have to go to first.

Sounds like your transmission. Low line pressure can cause this. The shudder went away with the superchips because it raised your line pressure as part of its programing. There are band aid fixes that can be made but with the age of your truck my recommendation is a full rebuild. New performance tq converter and either a performance VB or having some upgrades done to yours and you'll be in business. I would recommend doing an input shaft at the time of rebuild. As long as you aren't going to get too crazy with the power (500+) then that should be it.

already raised the line pressure on the valve body per dtt instructions.

slightly better. but still there. only shudders at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle full or cruising no shudder.

Have you adjusteed the Throttle Valve Cable? Might play with that a bit.

Soundl like you aren't getting enough line pressure at lower loads/rpms.

What did DTT say about your problem?
