Am I missing a feedback area of this forum?

Dl5treez, I bought a guy's Pelican rifle case a guy had at a show. When I asked to look in it, I picked it up, and it was HEAVY!! Like, 100+lbs!! I set it on the floor instead of his table, and it was packed full of magazines for various handguns and rifles, 2 and 3 deep... ... He said he'd given up on selling them, and was going to have to take them out and box them up if I bought the case... . Of course, I asked him what he'd take for all of them, he wanted an offer, so I said I'd give him $300 for the case and mags... ... He jumped up and stuck his hand out and said, "SOLD!" It made me jump back a little he said it so loud and so excited... ... I tried not to smile too big as I walked out... . There were several mags for various Sigs, CZ-75s, Beretta's, and even several Desert Eagle 41 and 44magnum mags... ... My cousin said I should have gone lower, seeing as the foam was cut out in several places for some type of AK or SKS..... I remember there being some of the "zipperback" mags in there, which I sold to a LE friend who carried a 220 for duty... . I think I got $20ea for them!! The Desert Eagle 41mags went for $40, and the real kicker was the Steyr GB mags... . there 5 in there, and I had NO IDEA what to ask for them. Not a single person had even seemed interested, and I figured I'd be stuck with them... . so I asked a really eager guy to make me an offer. I figured if I could get $10ea I'd be doing wel... . he said "would you take $50 apiece?" I tried not to jump up and down, but I pretended to think about it a second and then agreed... . Wish I could come out that well on all my trading!!!

Of course, later on, I ended up taking a GB on trade that only had two mags, and I wished I had kept a few... . :-laf

I LOVE stories like these! One man's pain in the butt is another man's treasure!

Here are those picks of the wear marks.

The barrel shroud on a Sig P220 is always like that, even from brand new.

It's definitely been shot though. The finish wear on top of the barrel is indicative of a few thousand rounds. I can't attest to 10k, but it's definitely been used.

Nothing wrong with that, though. Get some good mags and she'll be a keeper!

DL I was pretty happy with the first outing and grouping. I am pretty sure she has some life left in her :). Yet I appreciate the knowledge of someone who has more than me.
Bit the bullet and followed HH's advice. I have two on back order from Brownell's. I think once I have reliable mags, she will probably replace the G23 as my bedside gun.

Another question DL, is their a special tool for replacing the sights, (or moving them)? My hits are 180 degrees opposite where I shoot with my Glock. Not a huge deal yet I have a couple thousand rounds of muscle memory built in, and at 2 am that might prove problematic.

Yeah, definitely not 10k rounds. Not even half that, I'd wager. IF it has half that, it's with light loads and bullets. There is no erosion on the crown from gas blowby, and is that bluing still on it?

As for a sight mover, with night sights, you should always use a sight pusher, such as this:

That being said, there are a LOT of people that have moved them with a punch and hammer. That's not that bad with factory white dots, but with night sights you always risk breaking the tritium vials by doing that, but it's your firearm.....

Most Sigs come factory with "combat" sights. In other words, you'll have to cover your target in order to hit it. They can be changed with a sight pusher tool to any combination or style you like, however (target, etc). Factory Sig Sauer night sights (SigLite) are made by Meprolight. I run the factory nights and Heine Straight 8's on my guns.

Is your Glock hitting the target when you position the sights right below the target (target sights)? Is the Sig hitting right where the front bead is positioned (combat sights)? That's usually the case. Sig numbers their sites. You should see a single digit number on each, front and rear. Probably an 8-8 arrangement. You can buy higher or lower numbers to reposition your sight alignment/picture as desired, ie 8-9, 9-8, etc. Like HH said, best to use a sight pusher tool to remove/replace/adjust them. I have the Sig one, but there are many options available.

Dl in all honesty, I think that it was in my hold. In shooting something other than Glocks, it was a little unnatural at first. Tightening up my grip and getting the tail tight in the web of my hand has produced satisfactory results. I am humbly chagrined:)

As always, when someone claims a precision tool isn't working as directed, check the operator. I kind of forgot that maxim.
