My sirius radio won't change from channel 181. FM works fine but when trying to use sirius feature it does not play. Can't find a fix in the manual. Anyone have idea what to do?

my last radio crapped out after Sirius did a system update. Somehow took out my radio (and others from what I heard). Not sure if they did an update recently but that may be it. Mine acted similarly to what you are having but resetting it did not help.

Have not contacted them yet, but mine crapped out on trip to Florida. Going to see if they can fix or cancel subscription. No use paying for something I can't use. I'll update post if they can fix it. Thanks for the help.

Based on prior discussions about Sirius on this forum I'd say you have about a 50-50 chance of getting any satisfaction from Sirius. If you cancel your membership please let us know how it goes when you ask for a refund. If you have any questions about their customer service you might contact Harvey Barlow on this site for his experiences. I'm sure you'll find it an interesting read. :-laf

Logged on to Sirius website today and went to activation site. They sent a signal to my radio and now it is working. Thanks for reminding me that they have to zap it. I had to do it for XM site before but did not think about doing it for the sirius. Guess was just getting frustrated. OK now!
Really like my Dodges but you want everything to work on your road truck. Driving 10 hours. its nice not to have to look for FM stations.

Not hijacking the thread but as a Sirius radio aside. I recently changed out the hockey puck antenna for a Shakespeare SR25 marine antenna after many months of marginal signal that varied with time of day. The difference is amazing—with a nearly full field signal in all locations at all times. Apparently the puck antennas are prone to a weak cable shield and deteriorated ground plane and signal coupling?? Will update after some test-time.

never had a problem with my antenae. I can sit in my garage and listen to my Sirius radio with 100% signal strength.

Where was the connection between the factory puck and radio. The Shakespeare unit you mentioned has what looks to be 12-16" length of wire where you would connect. It's not buried is it?

JMusso - the fault in my puck antenna was in the cable at the puck - where its reinforced with a "web" but not enough. The Shakespeare SRA-25 has a standard coax junction probably 10" from the unit (Gosh I ferget which series coax connector- just sat thru 8 hours of doggy eye diease lectures t-day and the brain is FRIED) but that leads into 20 feet of coax terminated in the same connector at the receiver for the original unit. I merely machined a mounting block from 'plastic lumber' for my backrack to support the unit and cut a slot to route the cable thru the block, down the backrack mast, and into the cab. From there it was plug and play!!
