Control arms, or whatever they are called, does Skyjacker sell them by themselves with double ended Heim joints as a drop in replacement for the stock ones? Not a long arm kit, just the stock short arm with Heims?

Thanks!

I think Skyjacker will sell them seperately. But you better be sitting down when you see the price.

Search Skyjacker using the TDR search. I know there is info about them.

FYI, yes you can buy the stuff seperatly but not through Skyjacker they sell just the complete lift kits last I checked what you can do is part numbers from them and them call Four Wheel Parts @ 1-800-421-1050 as stated above the price is steep below is the number I got last year:

1 1/4” Kevlar lined Hiem Joint $82. 00 each (thread = 12 threads per inch 1 inch dia)

Left = RE114X1L

Right = RE114X1R

Miss-alignment Bushings $ 2. 99 each

REB 118-14 (larger ones) use a grade 8 / 14mm Bolt

Nuts for Hiems $ 2. 99 each

Left = 114LFTJN

Right = 114RFTJN

I am asuming you want the hiems for better articulation, if not needed go with the DT for savings the hiems do ride rougher.

Don't buy skyjackers heim joints... or for that matter... any heim joints from what I understand. I had the dual flex kit. It lasted about 1 maybe 1 1/2 years. They were totaly shot!!! I ended up buying the regular control arms from skyjacker. I was told about $100 a pop for the heims. 100 X 8 = 800? Too much money for even a year and a half!!! The normal control arms are on now... I should have done that to begin with. I think the heims were giving me the Dreaded Death Wobble. Once I changed them... no more problems.

I forgot to tell you... The people I spoke with all stated the same things... . I did good to get the miles out of the joints that I did. They said, the heims are not made to be used as a daily driver!

I believe that if you could get what's called "seals it" for heim joints they may last longer. Unfortunately the biggest size I've seen if for a 3/4 rod end. What they are is a washer with a rubber seal bonded on to cover the spherical ball area on the rod end to prevent easy access for dirt to the bearing and race area. The places that usually carry they are Drag Race specialty shops.

They started going bad about 4 months ago. I spoke with the people at 4=wheel parts. I also contacted the manufacturer of the joints that supply them to skyjacker. ( I just happened to run across their website and called. They informed they were the manufacturer of the joints for skyjacker. ) I also talked to a shop here in vegas that supplies rebuildable joints for generic applications. They were a a little cheaper, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting them rebuilt. If you still want to go this route, I have the arms still. You would just need to buy the hiems. (8 of them) I don't recomend it though.

I don't think the Heim joint arms are necessary unless you are planning a serious off road truck and need the articulation. The poly arms will work just fine, give you a better ride and last darn near forever if you grease them.

I agree with Dane..... I only bought the double flex because "Bigger and Badder" right? Well, wrong... . The poly arms are just fine!!!

The reason I asked is I have had the SkyJacker class II double flex 4. 5" lift for 5 years now, yes the hiems that came in the origanal kit five years ago sucked, they were lined with a teflon materail type tape and lasted approx 1 1/2 years, so I called skyjacker they addmitted they had a problem with them and sent me there newer upgraded Hiems, Kevlar filled, at no cost and I haven't had a single problem since.
