Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Strange Question

Anyone had trouble with the brake and clutch pedals getting play at the pivot points?

When I am pushing on the brake pedal and then push in the clutch I can feel the brake pedal respond to the clutch pedal movement.

I pulled the assy apart and the bushings all look good. The sevice manual only shows 4 bushings but there are 6 total. I bought 4 from the dealer (all they had) and re assembled with out lubricating just to see if new bushings would help. The play seems the same. When the other 2 bushings come in I will lube and reassemble but my question is could grease take up enough of the play to make a difference. This thing is a pain to pull apart and I want to get it right the first time.

( The factory lube on removal looked sparse and semi dry)

Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.

Too bad you didn't get a response. Mine has done the same thing. It did it for a couple months and then before I could get around to taking it apart, it quit and is working fine. It puzzled me because I thought if the bushings went bad, they wouldn't fix themselves. When I would be holding the brake down, I could feel the brake petal move when I depressed the clutch.

Well I got the other 2 bushings reassembled and lubed. The noise is now gone and the pedal slop is better but still slightly noticable. The bushings are $4. 50 each at the dealer (only worth about 25 cents each)

I guess thats about as good as it will get.
