Smarty 3rd Gen

It seems Marco is quite involved with the Smarty 2nd gen. as he doesn't mention progress on the Smarty 3rd gen. I'm hoping the orders get filled soon so we can here something.

The Smarty sounds like the programmer for me as well... while I'm overseas though I have plenty of time to watch these threads and learn from everyone else's experiences before I purchase. Sounds like just the ticket though! Thanks for starting a 3rd gen thread on the smarty!

I emailed PDR as they are listed as a vendor, they said they are still testing the 3rd gen Smarty so beta's must be out there. I probably should have emailed Bob since he is following the threads on this.



This downloader sounds like a good one for sure. I do like having the adjustable on the fly knob in the cab vs having to change programs but that might not be comparing apples to apples. Sounds like the Smarty is capable of much more. I have separate gauges so a Smarty would be stealthy, pictures are always fun and this thread needs one:

I would like to know what each CaTCHER is changing though especially since its not adjustable on the fly so I can make the decision on what I subject the fuel system and engine to.

This might of been asked before but will we be able to stack with the Smarty, say the TST?

From what I've read the TST is the best stack with the smarty. Others can be stacked. It boils down to which box you are stacking as to which program works best for that particular stack.

Auto Transmission tweaks??

I just thought of something. .

Since DC got away from the separate TCM and now has the ECM take control of the transmission, couldn't the Smarty have either separate transmission CaTCHER's or incorporate transmission tweaks with the existing CaTCHER's?

Thats one of the things that seems really promising about the Smarty & its ability to be updated over the web. Even if things like transmission programs aren't available right away, that possibility could carry on into the near future.
