Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Smarty and EZ?

I just got the smarty last night and yeehaw i was up until two in the morning.

awesome product. I also have a EZ and the instructions arent telling me what i need to do. hook up the smarty and load software first and then hook up the EZ or the other way around?

I don't think the EZ install is dependent at all on what Smarty software you're running. There was a thread that got some activity a couple weeks ago asking about running the two together. Bob Wagner says the timing curve from the Smarty is a whole lot better than what the EZ gives. Might be worth reading.

If I recall the instructions say to unhook any other boxes first. So I guess in reality it is download first then add ez. However I dont think anyone has had any problems downloading with a box hooked up. You will want to use the even number software (4,6,8) in the smarty due to the timing in the ez though.

I've never disconnected my banks box during updates but it only taps the pump wire. I'm sure Bob W will chime in with the final response!
