Hi gang,
let's see where do I start?...
After the update was done and I started the truck my abs light was on.
Yes, that can happen from time to time. We've tried to investigate that thing extensively... What SEEMS to happen is that after an update the ABS & ECM are out of sinc when they come back alive on the bus. Thus the ABS light... Why that happens and the cure for it is still a

Anyway, in the case the ABS light remains on: read the DTC's. Even if none present erase the codes, voilà... .
I think the main question is what has changed in the new softwares? Well, let me start saying what should NOT have changed; of course the power!!!
I have not changed the power curves in any way! I'll need to investigate to see why several of you are now seeing less power! OPS???
What I've changed is the timing . I would not even call it reduced timing. What I've changed is rather WHEN the timing is raised. At higher engine temps to cure the cold rattle just as an example... .
Yet, that change should have nothing to do with the power per se. A lot of guys have tested the beta version of that software. NONE EVER has reported higher EGT's or less power. I didn't see it either with my truck... .
Let me check the softwares, my first thought is that maybe Marco ( Me ) did something wrong...
See, with all the different software versions we offer today ( Thats 1400+ different softwares! ) some "mistake" in a "few" is not unlikely.
Would you please help me to rule out the " human " factor as a cause for the lack of power? In order to not have to check all 1400+ softwares, could you please tell me "your" SW revision #?
With Smarty it's easy.
1) Plug in Smarty with key#5 pressed. Release key #5 after a couple seconds that Smarty has powered on.
2) Wait for Smarty's main menu screen [ 1) ECM... 2)Data read ]
Press: #1 ( as if you wanted to update the ECM ) then again # 1.
Smarty will display a number with a couple letters at the end. That's the SW revison # that's in the ECM. That number combined with the TM version and software level ( key# on Smarty ) allows me to define exactly which software is in your ECM and investigate...
THANKS!
Marco
