its not a bad idea, but nothing outside of the ecm is communicating with it, except thru the port you plug into. i would only do it to make me feel better :D
 
man after seeing all of the problems everyone is having im not touching the software on mine till this gets corrected. but i really want the wild software.

I just DL'd and installed ver. 309D205A, works great much better. My power is back, egt's are down again and just a tad more smoke. No ABS light or any other codes after uploading to my truck.

Thanks for fixing the shift points!



I hadn't been 100% happy with Smarty ever since I got it b/c it made the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts in my 05 48re feel terrible.



I downloaded the new programs yesterday and the shifts are crisp and occur at about 15 mph for 1-2 and mid 20s for 2-3.



This was the update I've been eagerly awaiting.

I'm glad I came across this post... . my just received less than 15 minutes ago Smarty..... has "Smarty CR S-04" in red near the top, but the serial tag is S06B...



So this means I have an S-06???... going by the info posted by Lightman.



I purchased in support of an 06' vehicle, which is why I'm somewhat concerned with what I received.
 
Well I went ahead and loaded 307b to my ECM. Everything seems to be working well. I tried the 30, 60, and 90 horse programs all with timing. I had my EZ unplugged. Power felt good !! The only time I could get any real smoke was when in 5th ( NV4500 ) and let boost drop to 0 and then go about 3/4 throttle, but it cleared up quick.



The only thing that I am wondering about is the FASS, it runs for much longer after I made my first update to the ECM, wonder why? Is there any problem with starting the truck while the FASS is running. Cause usually by the time the wait to start light has gone out the FASS or LP has stopped.

Good job Marco. This has rpm ranges that are better then the first software but doesn't seem to have the same strong midrange/top end as first software did. I do like the unleashed power off idle.

Jeff the lift pump run time was a chrysler software upgrade. I is fine with a fass system

You have the right one.
 
Thanks Brista..... it came with 4. 02A/2. 03A... . haven't seen many messages discussing this version as being better/worse than what's out, so may just update Smarty before I do my first download to ecm tomorrow.

I believe that is the original Smarty 06 software. Go ahead and update your Smarty before installing on your truck.

Updated and downloaded... . went with #3 for now..... wasn't prepared for the LP running continuously during the first 50% of the download..... then the on/off action... . it's that whole unknown deal.



Download went smooth though... ... . took a short run and noticed the improved low-end responsiveness.

I will definately hook the EZ back up and try. Probably do it tomorrow.



Anyone who had the 307 software and is now running the newest 309 update from the site, do you think I should update ? I currently have 307b.

Marco, do you have the aftermarket injectors and aftermarket turbo version that has the same horse power as the 306_502 but with the transmission mods for the 05 48RE?
 
Marco, is there anything you can do for the p1740 transmission code? Lack of RPM drop when the T/C locks most common when running a tighter then stock convertor. Seems that it should be possible. Dj
 
I just installed 307b (came with the unit) I used #5 and kept my VA 3. 1 on low power, yikes the smoke is thick enough to cut soot slices!! (TST is completely removed). I would really prefer a little less smoke for daily driving. Power felt good and egt is down compared to the TST/VA 3. 1. A bit of timeing rattle, which was expected. I am currently downloading one of the 309 programs for aftermarket sticks on the work computer, dial-up=long wait. But it is the only windows machine I have access to. Sure wish I could use my Mac on high speed... Marco. Where is my driver?? :D



One other thing the overhead mpg immediately started going up, it would be nice if that is indicitive of reality.
