Hi all... . just got my Smarty Jr in the mail today. Thank you Bob for getting it out quickly with the free overnight shipping.
Out of the box, the wife makes a comment about the Smarty logo being kind of lame "is that the best they come up with??" I responded by saying "Who cares what it looks like... it's what it does that matters". Women!!
So... I proceed to read all instructions and then hook my new toy up. The instructions and connecting the Smarty Jr were both easy (for me, that's saying alot
)
I went straight to programming Level 2 "Towing mode" and take it for a test drive. Throttle response and power were without doubt improved. I measured this with a highly accurate, detailed "seat of the pants" feel.
After first test drive, I could not resist cranking it up to the next level 3 "Performance Mode". Again, more improved throttle response and power. With other minor mods I have done, I was afraid to get on it too much for fear of transmission issues, but I never felt any slipping or anything unusual.
So, my first impressions are definitely positive. Thusfar, the Smarty Jr has been as advertised and EZ to program. Time will tell with fuel mileage, but I admit it will be difficult to go easy on the pedal with my new HP.
I'm sure this topic has already been addressed on the forums, but I wanted to share just in case.
