The original smarty would be the best bet for stacking with another device that add timing.

The Smarty offer's every level of non timing that the jr. does not offer.

The Smarty is also capable of 230+ hp at the rear whenl gain vs. the junior which is capped at 100 hp.

I hope this helps

Bob

PS Junior would best be stacked with a pressure box if that is in anyone plans

Are the fueling programs for the Smarty and Jr the same at the same horsepower level? Reason I ask is because of what I've read about smoke and touchy throttle with the original Smarty. These are the reasons I don't already have one. From these posts, its sounds like these are not issues with the JR. I would prefer the full Smarty but not if some of these issues are still around.

Tinman, The smarty junior software were developed in October and were first marketed in the smarty junior.

That new group of software are now going into the original smarty.

two group's

everyday day driver and race tune's

Marco is all about research and development.

Thats the great support of smarty.

Thank you

Well, I ordered a Smarty Jr. today and should have it by Friday. Bob would like us that bought it for mileage to report back to him our results. I think it would be a good cross section for us TDR guys to do this for him.
The BIGGEST problem I think that us TDR guys have is that once we add performance mods to our trucks..... We can't keep our RIGHT foot out of them!!!

I have had mine on for a few days at the economy level 1 and it really makes this truck fun to drive again. Much better throttle response at any speed,no more smoke then stock and much lowered egts-up to 200 degrees when pulling a grade at 30+ lbs boost. Plus it got rid of a slight timing rattle/pinging that drove me nuts. I will report back after I burn a tank or two of fuel and see how the mileage goes. Any one on the fence about getting this product I say go for it you will be more then happy-plus right now you save a few bucks doing it. :)

Who do I buy it from to get the savings?

I see different prices posted, where do I buy it to get the savings? THX

When you go to their site, click to "STORE" and it will list the sale price. I paid $445. 00 shipped. Bob shipped it yesterday.

I am going to be waiting for my mail lady tomorrow! Oo. I want it NOW!!!

According to the website, the Jr is completely safe to use on all 3 power levels on a completely stock truck with no worries (even without gauges). Why is this? The reason I haven't started to mod the engine on mine is because I haven't put any gauges in and haven't set aside the money for the transmission, etc... but the Jr is VERY tempting if this is the case.

Bob, can you make me a believer so that I can convince myself to buy one from you?

I'm not Bob but maybe I can give it a try...

EGT's: let me start with a question. Do you feel comfortable to tow with a stock truck without gauges? It's often been reported that the CR trucks run 1500°F quiet easily in stock form. With the Jr on the 100Hp setting it's hard to get to 1200°F. No need for an EGT gauge...

transmission: the throttle response with the Jr is very linear and predictable. Sure ,if you do boosted launches all the times the transmission will not last but that's also true at stock power levels.

Combine the above with the fact that the softwares we have today have been tested under real world conditions by a lot of beta testers. Towing, Empty, Hot rodding... We've done A LOT of real world research work! I've kept the final release of the softwares always on the safe side of things.

Makes sense?

Marco, Bob. NICE JOB!!! My mail lady brought the Smarty Jr this afternoon and right after READING the COMPLETE instructions, I installed the 40hp mode in my '07, 5. 9 6spd.
All I can say is WOW!! It really woke the truck up. Some smoke... . not alot.
I will report to you guys my overall mileage once I settle downOo. .
Anyone sitting on the fence?... . GO FOR IT!
This is just what I was looking for. I want a good performing, relatively stock truck with POWER when I want it and MILEAGE when I need it.

THANKS TO YOU BOTH FOR YOUR HARD WORK on making a great product. Chris

I ordered mine will get it next week! I am looking forward to the change. I think with my modest upgrades this will be a good complement. I wonder what would be the change if I added injectors for 60 hp and the smartyJR... would that be overdoing it for my mods?

BTW, What is a "boosted launch"? THX PJ

Does the regular Smarty lower the EGT's like the Junior does? Assuming the same settings are used.

Yes, The new software released this weeks is working very good.

Dec. 5, 2007 - Software updates

Smarty S04 and Smarty S06

Totally revised softwares!

With the eleventh software version the long awaited “low smoke” software version becomes

finally available to you. ONE YEAR of R&D...

These are the softwares that have been mass tested as the “ beta 4. x ”.

Greatly reduced smoke. Greatly reduced EGT’s. Better Mileage with the same power as the

previous software versions.

In short what has changed:

Revised injection timing, revised fuel injection duration tables, revised boost tables.

Revised low end torque management. 95% of these softwares is revised /new.

NONE of these softwares add any rail pressure above the factory stock settings.

Which level on the Jr. is used to gain MPG's? Is this a real gain, or only cause the overhead is being fooled into figuring it wrong (as if it even get's it right with stock programming) It sounds very enticing, in terms of safe power gains for a stock truck, but I am also interested in MPG gain if really possible. I would love to see some hand calculated MPG's by people using the Jr. TIA

Marco,

Thanks for the answer so quickly! I have wanted to purchase a Smarty for some time but had a few other mods to get out of the way first. Now with the Jr. out, I will be placing my order later today!

Now that I have the Smarty jr, I want to fine tune my speedo. My truck with stock tires reads about 2mph FASTER than I am going.
QUESTION: Do I want to program in that I am running a smaller tire to get it right?
